@@andyb619t's not. These people can die if they catch our diseases. Do you know why the Sentinelese people are so aggressive against outsiders? Because the british empire kidnapped 6 of them in an attempt to take possession of the island. They all 6 became super sick, so they brought them back. They kidnapped 6 people and brought them back to the island to die and spread a disease. This tribe doesn't want to be contacted because of that. The missionary should have left them alone!

@stickyicky2858

The sentinel island was originally okay with some sort of contact until they started dying after a visit. The immune compromised you spoke of is a giant reason that and some people want to preserve and study it because it will tell us how we used to live 60,000 years ago

Immune compromise is the main reason yes, the other reason has nothing to do with hostilities. It's because their existence as an insulated uncontacted tribe is the valuable important part, contacting them doesn't benefit them and ruins the chance to understand them and benefit ourselves. Check out the Yanomami and what the French anthropology guys did.. nobody wants that to happen again. (Quick summary on what happened during the contact of the Yanomami: they did unregulated vaccination testing to try and get around the immunity compromise and killed a massive percentage. They also "traded" with them (giving them guns and swords and steel) to the most helpful tribe members (goons 😂) and abused their culture to have intercourse.. with everyone and everything in the village. )

In 1880, in an effort to establish contact with the Sentinelese, Royal Navy officer Maurice Vidal Portman, who was serving as a colonial administrator to the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, led an armed group of Europeans along with convict-orderlies and Andamanese trackers[clarification needed] (whom they had already befriended) to North Sentinel Island. On their arrival, the islanders fled into the treeline. After several days of futile search, during which they found abandoned villages and paths, Portman's men captured six people, an elderly man and woman and four children.[39][40] The man and woman died of illness shortly after their arrival in Port Blair and the children began to fall ill as well. Portman hurriedly sent the children back to North Sentinel Island with a large quantity of gifts to establish friendly relations and noted their "peculiarly idiotic expression of countenance, and manner of behaving".[18] Portman visited the island again in 1883,[28] 1885 and 1887. North sentinel island is a part of India.

The "gentleman" went their to spread awareness of the Cristian god to them.... Earlier there has been contact with them with out breaching on their property but how would an American understand the need to leave them alone and let them stay... No he had to start something just like they did with the American natives
