A lot of you are talking about how joe seemed unappreciative to his guests “gift” but what I believe to behappening here is a marketing strategy designed as a “gift”. Although the actual thought behind this may have been positive and his guest thought of it as an gift, the main reason for this is to promote the whiskey brand. Evident by his constant use of “you can give it to your guests” and “we’ll put the JRE logo on it” he is essentially attempting to partner his brand with the JRE without having to give joe millions of dollars for it. Instead some free whiskey. Joe instantly picked up on this and might be the reason for his cold approach to it all. However if the JRE has taught me one thing it’s to try and view situations from all perspectives. I believe his guest had positive intentions but his brand execs likely were using it as an opportunity to promote the brand or Joe was just being an ass 😂

Anyone else kind of put off by how nonchalant Joe is being towards this dude clearly trying to do a cool, unique thing for Joe and his podcast, and giving him a free barrel of fucking aged whiskey, or am I just reading too much into it?

When you're an influential person like Joe, people give you stuff to promote their brand, Joe knows this. Joe is a millionaire many times over and can afford his own whisky, he knows Wren is promoting his brand and he's just allowing him to do it while at the same time maintaining some objectivity and not being an 'infomercial' for whisky. I respect Joe for this.
