Deep, dark secret. Many furries are just obsessed with cartoon animal characters in a non-sexual capacity. Some of them drag their extreme fetishes or sexual roleplay into a convention, but those are the outliers, and even other furries get annoyed by them when it's taken to public extremes. o.o; To answer the question of 'where does it start', when it comes to attraction, it depends on what behavior you're talking about-- generally, living with some sort of disability, living around pretentious pseudo-intellectual, and xenophobic human exceptionalists (Paranoid Would-be Christians who think humans are hot shit come to mind), and being exposed to a lot of ecologically-friendly themes in stories and animation, young, all help with liking the idea of being a non-human. Points if you also buy into the 'noble savage' myth and idealize cultures with a lot of animal reverence. Has some overlap with various strains of anime fantasy/fetishism, when taken into the domain of physiological fetishes, or fetishizing characters in fiction. If you like tits on cartoons, it's a good chance you'll eventually like tits on cartoons of wolf chicks in eyeliner, and what have you. Sexualized cartoon animal characters, would be my number one explanation for the eventual fetishism. That, and living with domesticated animals and having been approached by them in a dominating or sexual way, and developing some kind of fantasy that overlaps with the notion of non-human characters. There's some overlap of religion, entertainment, fetishism, and personal trauma involved, in a variety of degrees, depending on the individual. And then of course, there are folks who are furry because it's hip and edgy in some regards... this is just a few ways I can think of.

why is it that people all think that furries all have sex in fursuit? also i am pretty sure that the litter box thing was a joke, the dog bowl was probably something to do with the restaurant in pittsburg that furries frequent and saved from going out of business which in return they followed the theme by starting to serve food in dog bowls during the con, and no they don't eat off the floor its just the container its put in. Other people take furries way more seriously than we take ourselves.

It's food for stupid people. And I don't mean that to put myself on a pedestal, there's all kinds of furries that are complete buttfucking idiots, but this is just the "weird" and sexual talk that brings in views. People who come to take information from one source (stupid people) and walk away with what they think is reality. Rogan is clickbait honestly, I don't hate him or think he should stop what he's doing, but he's an idiot's thinker you know?

If it's halloween or they work as a mascot that's on thing but why the fuck would a middle aged man regularly walk around in an animal costume where you can't even see his face. If you are a teenager I can give you a pass, but not 40. Not only do they dress like animals but a lot of them also act like animals, as Joe Rogan pointed out. Even in "innocent" youtube furry videos you'll see grown ass people making animal noises and running around like idiots. A lot of them are also into beastiality.

@@xpopcornx1747 look bud you obviously arent as informed on this issue than you think you are and not by any fault of your own its pretty difficult to get good info on furries so ill spare you the googling and give it to you straight only about 15% of furries wear fursuits and the people who fuck each other in them is significantly lower i dont have an exact number but i can its probably lower than 7% as for the regularly walking around thing thats completely subjective some do some dont but if i had to guess id say most dont and if they do whys that a problem its not like theyre doing anything bad theyre just kinda existing whats wrong with that now the grown ass people acting like animals part is more an opinion rather than an argument based in logic but ill humor you from my experience no one does that apart from the random outliers just the same as all the other things but people defiantly do that kind of thing but not in the context im assuming youre referring to they dont just act like that 24/7 they save it for when theyre in a place where that kind of stuff is meant to happen you know like a convention or their own home the beastiality thing is less causation more correlation i dont think furries are inherently more prone to being into that kind of thing but i think that ts more the fact that its animal related so it draws in people like that more than other groups would you would find people like that in any animal related thing its not exclusive to furries tldr: they dont do that stuff on any real scale its more misrepresentation than anything the people who are part of it ive found are most of the time very nice poeple maybe even more so than other groups if you give them the chance
