The very first disco song that ever came out in 1975😃
@adamnonex60019 жыл бұрын
Adrianne Parker Rucker As far as I can tell, it came out in March as a single and later as an album track. “Reach Out, I'll Be There” by Gloria Gaynor and “Hi-Jack” [or “Hijack”] by Herbie Mann came out in January, as did the single version of “Express” by B.T. Express. Of course, there were a lot of disco songs in 1974, and arguably a few in 1973. (My candidate for first disco song would be “Armed and Extremely Dangerous” by First Choice, Feb 1973.)

This was the last song danced with my mom off of we had a house party celebrating our Birthday in July of 2005 the 9th & 10th we're a day apart.She was battling cancer but it didn't let her stop her from dancing,going to church and have a few drinks on the weekends LOL I put this cd in her CD player and everybody was dancing.My mom passed Aug 30th 2005 and whenever i hear this song or many other songs that she used to love to dance off of i always think of the happy and great times that we had together,. On this day in 1975 {August 16th} Joe Simon performed "Get Down, Get Down, Get Down {Get On the Floor)" on the Dick Clark ABC-TV Saturday-afternoon program 'American Bandstand'... Five months earlier on March 30th the song entered Billboard's Hot Top 100 chart at position #95, eleven weeks later it would peak at #8 {for 2 weeks} and it spent 17 weeks on the Top 100... And on May 4th it reached #1 {for 2 weeks} on Billboard's Hot R&B Singles chart... Between 1965 and 1981 the Louisiana native had forty-seven records on the Hot R&B Singles chart, thirteen made the Top 10 with three reaching #1, his other two #1 records were "The Chokin' Kind" {for 3 weeks in 1969} and "Power of Love" {for 2 weeks in 1972}, plus he had three records peak at #3, "Your Time to Cry" {1970}, "Drowning In A Sea of Love" {1972}, and "Theme from Cleopatra Jones" {1973}... Joe Simon will celebrate his 74th birthday next month on September 2nd {2017}...
