A truly great champion. A champion that everyone can respect ! Didnt resort to foul tactics when he was losing - unlike another boxer we all know ! Joe Frazier you are the greatest, both in - and out of the ring. RIP Joe.

I think it's poetic justice that it was Joe Frazier, and not the great Muhammad Ali, who won the biggest and most important heavyweight fight of all-time. That win automatically puts him in the list of all-time top 10 heavyweights.
@afsanaparvez61126 жыл бұрын
that's exactly wat I think and the fact that he put up a close fight in the second two
@walterkovacs61174 жыл бұрын
@The Senate the same could be said for Ali. I read somewhere that angelo dundee wasn't gonna let ali fight either, or atleast try cutting-the-glove tactic (which was warned by futch to the federation) but futch made it clear that he didn't want to take chances since frazier was fighting blind (his left eye had been blind for most of his career,and the right eye was swollen af). But before dundee made a call,futch threw in the towel. And frazier was so mad at futch that he didn't talk to him for quite a long time after that

''Champions aren't made in the ring, they are merely recognized there. You can map out a fight plan or a life plan, but when the action starts, it may not go the way you planned, and you're down to your reflexes, training your preparation, perseverance. That's where your roadwork shows. If you cheated on that in the dark of the morning, well, you're going to get found out now, under the bright lights.'' - Joe Frazier -

I really miss the champ, being from Philly- you’d run into him right on the street, and he’d talk to you as if he already knew you. But don’t bring Ali up, cause his facial expression would change then- lol... What a humble, nice guy !!! Missing you champ !!!
@Ffeoli10394 жыл бұрын
My biggest regret was not meeting him. Lived in Philadelphia my whole life. He was taken so suddenly. I, like many, would do anything to meet someone like him because he deserves it. He should know how much we all loved him. RIP champ.

"I have to say Joe Frazier - I want to say here and now - is the greatest fighter I've ever fought. He'll have to go down in history as one of the greatest heavyweight champions of all time. They might not recognize him, but I'm saying it. I've beaten all the heavyweights in the past and none of them gave me as much trouble as Joe Frazier." - Muhammad Ali in 1975 after the Thrilla in Manila.
@sleazyfellow4 жыл бұрын
Winner of the fight of the century. One of the big 3 in the heavyweight division when it was at it's best. It was like an evolution from Dempsey, to Marciano and then to Joe. Unlimited stamina and great left hook. RIP. I remember the announced his cancer diagnosis and it wasn't even a month later and he's dead.
@fatherj32833 жыл бұрын
My gpa used to tell me stories about Frazier, Ali, and Foreman when I was growing up. All their battles with each other. All 3 were the truth. Frazier’s gotta be my favorite out of the 3 tho. Fought legally blind in one eye and still KO’d Ali to become the undisputed champ. The toughest SOB to ever lace em up but also one of the most genuine dudes you’d ever meet. RIP

I would go to Ali's training camp in Deer Lake, Pennsylvania. He would talk about Joe Frazier, with Love, Respect, Awe. He was completely in AWE of Joe Frazier's will. It was Joe Frazier who gave Ali that Huge Heart Ali had. Ali used to say, I can't stop training, I can't let up for a minute when it's Joe Frazier. You hit him with EVERYTHING in the book and he keeps coming. That's the Ali opinion of Joe Frazier that I know. I was there!

Frazier did what Tyson never had the heart to do. He repeated got off the canvas after being hit harder than any man should be able to live through. Tyson never got hit by a prime George Foreman. He never took everything Ali had to give either. Only young guys who haven’t lived long enough to have seen real heavy weights think Tyson was the greatest. Tyson, Lewis, klytchko aren’t even in the top ten.
