Joe South was a peculiar character. Born in Atlanta, Georgia, he was a county singer/songwriter. But his “hits” weren't quite country. They were more pop than country.

Joe South - Songs of Humanity! This guy had it all. Handsome devil, mega talented songwriter/singer and what you saw was what you got! His songs hit me right in the heart, from an adult perspective. My favorite these days is “Don’t It Make You Wanna Go Home.” I recently returned to my home state, but not to where I grew up. It will always remain in my memory as it was when ai was a young girl. I see no point in destroying it.
