Fast Fact: Walsh is an avid ham radio operator, and has been since a child...he can often be heard on 80 meter SSB. :)
Amongst other musicians, so is Stu Cook (CCR) and, amazingly, Feargal Sharkey (The Undertones).

Joe Walsh is not only a great guitarist, he’s one of the funniest guys ever! In the eighties he used to spend a great deal of time in Chicago. He would frequently show up on The Steve Dahl and Garry Meier show. I worked at a hospital on the afternoon shift and would listen on the way in. I would be in tears when I got there. He was telling the story of how he was sitting in his limo and Richard Marx’ Don’t Mean Nothin came on and about the opening riff he says “Hey, that guys pretty good.............oh yeah, I did that”. Now, you have to imagine him saying it like he just took a nice, long toke. Lol. I’m partial to Funk 49 and Walk Away.

There's an old saying in Chinese - "When the tree falls, the monkey's scatter." It means that when a great person loses their perceived greatness all those who cling to them panic and go off to find other people to cling to. That happens a lot with musical artists who are on top of the world for a time and then a year or two later are back to playing in dive bars.
