I think there is plenty of reasons to question Artetas competence as a manager. First of all the squad "as is" should have quality enough to provide better results. There is a number of proven quality players who have underperformed under arteta. He fails to get the best of partey, cedric, martinelli, abu, ødegaard and others. I think this comes down to a number of bad system decitions. For example choosing to play players out of position when there are backup players who specialize in those positions available. Also choosing to play with no strikers, no wingbacks, no defencive midfielder and so on and so on. These types of decitions have failed in several key moments, costing the club greatly. Furthermore i think he has failed to learn from his mistakes and he has failed to take responsibility. So, for me, at this level he has had his chances and wasted them. If a player makes such defining mistakes causing the team to loose, he is quickly benched or sold. The same standard or higher should apply to the manager. In conclusion, i think arteta should go this summer.

He's having to do what he's doing with a team that aren't good enough, the same players who underperformed for Wenger and Emery too, but you blame him for everything. 3 more wins this season and we'd be 4th, and I don't think we're good enough for 4th, so I'd say were about were this squad deserves to be. He needs backing in the transfer window and then we can see what he is capable of doing.

Teams play different against us then Newcastle. He can't operate in tight space where decision making is key. I don't think he's good enough. A move to a club like Newcastle will be good for him.

As a Newcastle fan, i think a lot of Arsenal fans are discrediting his technical ability. He has improved drastically. His dribbling and passing have actually been very good. Unfortunately when we lost Hayden through injury we had to revert to a 5 back and play on the counter but before that we controlled possession against west ham everton for spells and his on the turn passing and dribbling were very good

This is not the 9th best squad in England. This is the 1st time that Arsenal have missed Europe in over 20 years. This is a team that beat Manchester City and Chelsea to win the FA Cup, and beat Liverpool to win the Community Shield. Of course he has underachieved.

We have a world-class central midfielder in Thomas Partey, along with a 40 mil CM in Xhaka that Arteta plays at LB, Real Madrid's Dani Ceballos and Martin Odegaard. Emile Smith-Rowe is a burgeoning talent in midfield as well. Bellerin is a Spanish international. Kieran Tierney is the future captain at LB. Gabriel is a highly rated CB out of France. William Saliba was sought after by multiple clubs before joining Arsenal, and not being allowed one game. Pablo Mari and Rob Holding are both solid. Bernd Leno is a quality GK, even though Arteta let the better of the two go in Emiliano Martinez. Arteta cut ties with Guendouzi, Willock, Mavropanos, and Ozil and three out of the four have impressed in their new surroundings. We have a better squad then you think. It damn sure isn't the 9th best.

We would have finished in the top four had we won 3 more games and I can name at least five matches Willian was horrible in.
