Can anyone here tell me why so many of the new M2's haters are actually BMW owners themselves?. The looks have grown on me personally, and it seems like such an exciting drive.

3,6 seconds in a rear wheel car with „only“ 460hp is absolutely INSANE!! This is the car to buy! I’m going to do everything possible to get this car in time to have it for the rest of my life. great review, full of information, mature calm presentation, just what a listener needs to know. Unfortunately looked at another review of this car form one of you compatriots (won't say his name), and I wasn't able to watch it to the end because of the shrieking, immaturity, sexual innuendos and bad "acting" - I guess his audience is more in the teenage group. Magnificent car!

What a brilliant review. Great job Joe!! Other "carTubers" should learn from you. I have had mine for 3 days now and loving it. Took it to the canyons here in California with my friends M4 comp. We exchanged cars every 10 min and we compared. He said he wished he got the G87 instead.

My question; no reviewer will answer but you are probably best equipped to is… The Original m2 costs around £30k, is this £35k more car? Equally the same for the comps at around £40k is it £25k more car? Is it worth the money? I don’t doubt that’s it’s a great car, but cars like these are getting far too expensive!!!

Brilliant vid as always. Delighted to hear the new M2 is a gem (was concerned about the increase in weight). That said, if the base M2 is 460hp, the Competition version is bound to be very close to the M3/M4, which.....

I prefer the M240i cheaper and almost as fast and it looks better.

would love to see the CS, as we can all agree 1700kg for an M2 is not ideal. Glad to see it doesn't feel that weight though!

This was fun Joe! Had to watch yours first of course! Again, glad to have you here in the States for this - and hearing that Joe laugh that says "Awww damn this is goooood" is always good to hear haha!

Glad to get another perspective on the m2 as its been mostly bad or meh reviews so far (too heavy, too ugly, not that fast, bad gearing, too much turbo lag, manual not as good, etc)... still think I would go manual supra over m2 if I was looking in this segment but the thought of being able to do a quick ecu tune on this true M engine (finally) would be intriguing... Then again prob would just pay a bit more and go m4/m3 xdrive and get possibly the best daily all rounder on the market (and also better looking as long as you go dark colors to blend in the grill)

Building "M" cars in Mexico yet selling at a Bavarian price tag. BMW wins again while consumers take yet another bath. Not sure about you but I prefer my "M" assembled over seas thank you. Yeah Yeah I know SAV's are Spartanburg built, frankly don't care. Thank you Joe for another stellar review👌

The transmission sounds snappier than Auto in the M3/M4; almost DCT-like. Did they make some improvements here?

Every other journalist said the car didn't feel as good as the out going m2. But Joe owned a boat load of bmws and has driven more than any other so if he says its amazing then it's his opinion that matters more. Great review

Styled by the design committee that never met.

It was always clear to me that the car will perform amazingly. When I first saw it, I almost started crying, denial kicked in. This can't be the final version, it looks like a cheap 20 bucks eBay body kit slapped onto an actual M2. People told me, it'll grow on me, but it hasn't ... I'm so sad 😢

I was worried that it might be slower in a straight line than the m240 xdrive. Thanks for putting my concerns to rest. Amazing review. You are also the 1st reviewer to really push the auto That I've seen.

I can imagine the interior with the carbon buckets would be a lovely place to sit.. and it still has that glorious straight six which is something special in this day and age. However, the exterior is just so jarring. I just don't understand what BMW are doing. You shouldn't need an adjustment period - the car should be stunning , period. I remember seeing the F87 M2 and instantly wanting one. Sad really, but I am sure there's plenty of people who will still buy it.

Wow Joe, what an awesome video - you're having the time of your life!!! Hey, what I did notice, and I hadn't noticed this in other cars featuring the I-Drive 8 curved screen -- how much that screen is vibrating - quite noticeable towards the end of your video. Hmm, I currently own a a G42 M240i xDrive ... is this M2 my next upgrade??

8:17 -- I noticed this in the M240. There was a minor, vague feeling of sitting on not in the car, whereas the carbon buckets in the M4 felt just right. Also note the narrow vertical dimension of the windscreen. My old M135i has wide open forward vision by comparison. The bottom edge of the windscreen seemed high, thus I'd need to adjust the head-up display upwards by the smallest increment. You could feel the weight of the M240 when changing direction even at low speed, and one imagines the tyres bending as a result. I'd like to see Joe operate that minus volume rocker switch whilst doing 0-60 in less than four, perhaps using the new BMW right thumb extension. The old steering wheel design was better. So, can you get the carbon buckets in an M240? They're expensive, but cheaper than liposuction.
