The second weekend of Deer Camp 2020 brings a huge change in the weather. Snow has fallen, the weather has turned colder and we have some November wind. Still a great time at The Tent. Stay tuned for DEER CAMP 2020 The Final Weekend. I am editing it now.

I grew up with 2 brothers and a dad who hunted in SE Arkansas. I don’t currently hunt, as my dad has died and I live far from my brothers. Your videos bring back special memories. Thank you for sharing.

Find a hollow or creek/river bed to sit in for the windy periods. The thicker the better. Deer need to eat around 5 times a day, so they will get up and move around a bit. If the wind is so bad they can't eat, as soon as it dies down they will be moving. Great video, looks like a great camp!

Joe: At our deer camp we frequently use a crock pot to make up very delicious dinners while we are out hunting. A nice pork/beef roast or pork or beef chunks with your choice of your favorite selection of mixed beans or if you prefer, sauerkraut or cabbage and potatoes or whatever ignites your taste buds may be put into the crock pot in the morning, and by the time you return from the evening sit, dinner is waiting. A whole chicken and the beans of your choice if you're not in the mood for red meat is an option. We do this all the time and never get tired of it. Just a suggestion of what we have done for years and how it has worked well for us.

We have one specific friend who comes every year to go deer hunting on our property. He is a retired police officer who is disabled now and only has the use of one of his legs. His son brings him hunting every year. He got a doe last year and he just got another doe day before yesterday. She was a nice size and he got her right behind her ear, perfect shot🙂

Love watching you folks. I'm 50 and grew up hunting here in upstate NY with my dad and his dad and the week of opening season there was usually a crew of 10 of us between family and friends. These videos bring back a lot of great memories as sadly so many of our little hunting crew are no longer with us. As many have commented, I too could spend a great deal of time at "The Tent". Take care and keep the great vlogs coming. PS...like you and that last buck you scored we always hung them up the same way!

I can’t exactly explain it but I live in North Carolina raised loving anything to do with the ocean and while you were sitting in Sarah’s stand looking out with the snow, wind and everything, I had the same feeling as standing by the ocean watching the surf. I make crockpot chicken tikka masala occasionally. I even go so far as to make my own garam masala. It's a two day thing. Garam masala and prep the night before (the fresh ginger is the most annoying part), then 8 hours of cooking the next day. My house smells amazing by 6:00pm. I do not recommend this for hunting when scent control is important. :D

When you find round objects that roll around on the floor like pencils and pens you have a weasel in the cabin. Weasels are able to sneak thru small spaces to enter your cabin looking for mice that they follow there. This has happened many times at our hunting cabin in northern Wisconsin. Some night you will wake up hearing a weasel having great fun.

In Pennsylvania, our traditional bear season is the week of Thanksgiving with two weeks of buck and doe season starting right after that. We now have one Sunday deer hunting day. But, we are dealing with CWD in the part of the state where we have our camp. All our friends that hunt out of our camp from out-of-state have to bone all their meat before any venison can be removed from our wildlife unit. The skull, and bones have to be deposited in a dumpster provided by the PA State Game Commission. Cheers! Whipple
