On Halloween my church would have Hallelujah Night. Kids would dress up as people from the Bible. We had music, face painting, games, food and treats. It was fun actually.

I was raised in a Christian home. My parents didnt allow me to watch Harry Potter, Coco and Wizards of Waverly place till I was 12-13. Now i watched all of them 2-3 times and I'm a potterhead. But, dont get me wrong. I never let my love for these movies get between me and God.

They have side chicks that they feel are more beautiful than their wife. I love Harry Potter cause of the story line and the friendships, God gives me a better story and good Christian friends. And God is much more beautiful than Harry Potter. And I would leave Harry potter in an instant if it got in the way of my love for God. I love God infinitely more than Harry Potter

I know because I watched Harry Potter as a kid and I liked it. Though, it was glorifying witchcraft, something that we ask Christians should stay away. But if you try to stay away from HP but can't bcs you're addicted, ask God that desire from you, He will help, while you stay away from it. Then, ask yourself if you spend more time with God than any other things. Also , in marriage, it has always been one woman and man, there shall be no other. The people in the old testament, though God was silent about it, because women those days needed protection, but from the start it was meant one man and woman. It started with Adam and Eve, and it will end with Jesus and the church. Not Jesus, Harry Potter and the church. No no no.

Me too my parents were chill about Harry Potter but I wasn’t allowed to watch most pbs kids shows such as Arthur because he didn’t get along with his sister and was disrespectful to his parents 😂. I’m grateful for a lot of the rules I had growing up now even if I don’t necessarily think I’ll enforce them on my children when I have them.

No Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (violence), no Pirates of the Caribbean (voodoo), no Halloween (instead Fall Festival at Church), etc...but when I was old enough to understand the Bible, now I get it. God requires Christians to lead a holy life AND that it's good for us. He loves us, and I will raise my children to obey God as well, to show Him that we love Him 💙

No electronics, games, tv, etc until we did our bible journaling. Every day especially after school. I recently got back into it - no kids- but i think this is a good parenting tool so kids can spend small time with God.

As a Christian, I can relate to most of these! Harry Potter was in this weird gray area between bad satanic stuff and fantasy fake magic. My mom didn't allow me and my sister to watch Harry Potter and Spongebob, although over time she loosened up on this rule. For some reason my mom let us watch adventure time though (she probably didn't know what it was so she just allowed it). Nowadays me and my sister are huge Spongebob fans! We celebrated halloween and we were allowed to watch Twilight but my sister had to take down her Edward Cullen posters when our aunt came over! Btw to all of my Christian friends, if you haven't watched Gravity Falls I highly recommend you do! Gravity Falls has a very important message, don't trust demons! Demons seem nice at first but they are deceiving you! Gravity Falls illustrates this perfectly!

I remember this funny scene from my childhood. Me and my brother were playing mario kart wii. He always won so one time, I threw a red shell at him just before he crossed the finish line. So I won for the first time😂. Out of anger, my brother called me an Indian bad word which means "stupid". I called him that too. Few minutes later, we both had chilli powder on our tongues placed by our mother😅 Little later, she fed us jaggery(sweet) and told us to not say it again. Ahh... fun times

We as Christians we should follow what is written in the Bible the Bible says in 1 Peter 1:15but as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct,” let me ask id Halloween holy in how it is celebrated. Is putting up skeletons and caskets and ghosts and anything scary really show anything holy like God. Even though u might feel that there is nothing wrong as children if God their are some practices we should refrain from because they are of the world and God told us in Roman’s 12:2 “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. “

Being an Esperantisto, our made up cuss words were a bit out of the ordinary for most people but they were still so fitting. Fusku and Fuhesemedo are definitely my favorite ones now that I'm older. Oh yeah, and don't forget about the English favorite of Fudruckers!

My mom didn't allow me and my sister to watch Harry Potter when we were young, but now she allows us to! As long as we know that the Harry Potter satanic magic stuff is wrong things should be good! When we watched Twilight and the sequel to the wizard of Oz my mom told us that the good witches don't actually exist in real life! Lol

It’s funny, me and my sister were allowed to do all of these! We watched those shows all the time and celebrated Halloween. We considered Halloween just a fun activity to do! 😅

This is so random but this is what I say instead of cussing (it works I’ve never cursed) crudglemcmudglemuffins (pronunciation: crud-jel-mc-mud-jel-muff-ins-) Also, I was allowed to read Harry Potter but my parents made it very clear that magic and witchcraft is NOT REAL.

My parents are amazing, bc they have given me a great understanding of what i should be watching and what i shouldnt be watching. Like they have let me watch harry potter and shows like that, but have also put in my mind to be careful of what i fill my head with. I love them for that, and a thousand other reasons!

I was raised in a Christian household, but I was allowed to watch these and use creative curse words. Although, while I was allowed to watch these and whatnot, I never saw the point of watching them anyway. My parents had plenty more interesting movies and series for us to watch. And creative cursing made me incredibly sarcastic. As for Halloween, everyday was Halloween. Not the rituals and such, but the dark colors (light-sensitivity) and dressing up as our favorite characters.

I feel like as a Christian, as long as we know it’s not real and we know that witchcraft is bad then it’s fine to watch because the movie itself is fine as long as we know that behind it we don’t believe in or advocate the witchcraftery

I always used to hear how great Harry Potter was but honestly I was never sad I couldn’t read or watch it. Even if I was allowed to I don’t think I would because it just doesn’t catch my eye. So it worked out perfectly!!!😊❤

But i am a Christian and i was raised in a perfect christian family, and i believe in God, but I am also a Potterhead(but it doesn't it's my idol, i am just a fan you know), i have read the books and i have watched the movies of Harry Potter and I love it.Actually Harry Potter can teach you many kind things, beacuse the main character Harry Potter is so nice and you can learn a lot of things from him as well.I just don't understand what's wrong with that.

It was no Harry Potter and dragon ball Z for me. Hearing Derek prince and Michael yousef daily on the radio was normal. There was no Halloween whatsoever and church camp was something to look forward to. Great childhood memories and Today I am still following the Lord🕊

As a Christian, I was allowed to watch Harry Potter (the “witchcraft” is not actually demonic so it was fine) and SpongeBob, and my family always went trick-or-treating and had fun on Halloween (we just left out the “celebrating evil” part)
