Today we finish up the insulation in the shop. The white radiant barrier with the exposed and painted trusses really hit off the look in my opinion, so happy to see it come together.
We also got another project dropped off, just what I need. The LR4 breaks. And Ted and I make a trip for a fun new tool for the shop. Exciting days in this video for sure!
Here is the link to the playlist of all the shop build videos is you are interested in watching it more in depth.

Looks good, way brighter, it is no longer dark and way easier to find things that are dropped. Plasma is kinda rough... I look forward to your refurbishment of the plasma table.

The plasma is super rough, but the rails and drive system looks in fairly good order so I think we can get it sorted out. Having had them in the past, it actually doesn’t take too long to start looking like this if you have a water table catching the sparks and don’t keep on top of keeping it clean. The air pressure launches water everywhere and if you don’t clean the table you get rusty water on everything. If I would have got it before the white walls were up it would have looked much better in the shop since you wouldn’t be able to see it so well haha.

Awesome job Joe. It's been a lot of fun (and sometimes frustrating) watching your progress. The light inside is just so good!

Great vid. Since I own a fabulous 2012 LR4 V8, that segment on the maf sensors was gold for me.TY. Your Shop is so cool. Congrats.

Joe's taking full advantage of the HF warranty policy! I feel you on the 'focusing on one project at a time' not being the norm. ADHDers unite! As a LS motor aficionado, I also avoid oil soaked filters. Pretty much any modern motor that has a sensor just downstream of the filter element do not need a K&N. I do think they're just fine for a vintage motor that doesn't have that level of fuel management control. The shop looks stunning! Fakebook Marketflakes is the worst for impulse finds. Guilty as well.

That ease of return is pretty nice with HF. Having one in town makes a lot of their tools make sense. But in all reality I haven’t had to use the return policy a whole lot, somewhat selective on what I get from there. But as you see I get a fair amount from them. Look, a squirrel. Haha. I’m working diligently towards getting the shop sorted and cleaned to help with the adhd while working on projects. I’ve been limiting how often I look at the market flakes (haha, I like that). Keeps me in check.

See it’s not all doom and gloom all the time haha. They really have a worse rep than reality. But my opinion is also not valid since I love them so much, a tad biased.

I think you should just install a winch in the shop for pulling stuff in LOL. The shop looks great very jealous

I think that may be a great idea. I could sink one into the concrete centered with the garage door on the back wall. Something like a simple 5000 lb one would do the trick and make life much easier. That’s now on the to do list!

Those filters were nasty. Chooched. Nice word. The shop does look great.

The last time I pulled them was 16,000 miles ago, I had every intention of ordering a different set then. But yeah my fault for spacing that, 16,000 miles of not ideal driving conditions (Dusty/Dirty) on top of K&N filters that needed a recharge isn’t exactly the best scenario. Appreciate that in the shop, very happy with how it’s shaping up. Thanks as always!

Yes it’s going to be mighty nice, and I do have some good family, helped me save quite a bit on this whole deal. When I started we were still in the construction boom from the pandemic. From what I was getting quoted to just have a turn key setup from someone building it I’m near $100k less, took a lot longer then having a pro do it but the savings and the experience was well worth it. Good memories made.

HAHAHA and I thought you had a mouse nest in the LR4 lol. And man that place is bright now and looking great and kind of European. And you can't have to many toys lol oh and FB marketplace is addictive

Kind of European sounds good to me haha, way better than the straight up pole barn it get like before. FB marketplace is definitely a weakness of mine, but I guess it works both ways, it has been good to me to move some stuff along as well.

Wow the end result looks amazing, not only a lot warmer for you, but the light in there will also be so much brighter. Can’t believe that you managed to put up all of those rolls by yourself, a second pair of hands would have made the job a whole lot easier, but well done anyway. The plasma table looks to be a good buy, a Joe clean up and refresh and she will be looking and working as good as new I’m sure, look forward to seeing that come together. Keep up the great work. 😎👍

In addition to all that I’m really happy with the noise dampening as well. I was going nuts with the pitter patter on the roof when it rained. So much more peaceful now haha. The plasma will come in handy getting the dash made up in the Defender. It will be much easier to tweak and dial in with the ability to cut it on site.

How do you like that scanner? Would have thought you would have jumped on the GAP tool already with all the Rover work.
@LostCauseRanch
@LostCauseRanch 7 ай бұрын
It’s been good, it was the main workhorse for the shop. The coverage on BMW is great and it has good euro coverage in general. It can do some coding and programming on the Rovers so it made the GAP somewhat of an overlap on certain things. So it covered most of the stuff we had to handle in the shop. But definitely can’t do it all like the GAP.

Thanks! I prefer Mann or Hengst for filters. They are the makers of the majority of the European manufacturers OEM filters. www.roverparts.com/filters/air-filters/LR011593/

I'm jealous. I would love a setup like that. I just picked up a low price 2011 LR4. Any advice on where to get the chain replacement kit? Amazon has them for a fraction of the price versus British Atlantic or the dealer
