My heart goes out to the shooter's 7 year old son who was shot in the head. He's a victim of his mother and this shooting too. I pray for what God believes is best for this child.

I had a whole lot of admiration for this man. He wasn’t just crying out of gratitude. He cried out of compassion for the shooter, her son Samuel and her family. He was grateful God protected the church and it wasn’t a ‘mass’ shoo ting. This man is truly kind hearted.

Joel should do less crying and take action. I think he should adopt the child that is in critical condition and give him the life he deserves.

I say this out of love: I hope this incident is a wake-up call to Osteen to use his ministry to impact the world rather than for his personal monetary benefit.

Umm, the TABC cop who engaged the deranged shooter tried to protect folks, for sure. But what about the 2 lady HPD officers who stayed put in that stairwell? And what about the HPD dude who remained concealed just a few feet from the shooter as she ranted and occasionally fired rounds? They did NOTHING to protect anybody but themselves.

There was no tears from his face, how is he crying, all this for the camera.

I can only imagine Joel Olsteen's faith is shaken. I'm sure he now doubts a considerable amount in the hope of a Divine presence. His faith wasn't tried here or put on trial for others to see how he will react. No one knew this was going to happen or would happen. Life just goes on each and every day until it meets that one human, or thing, that challenges your existence.

It just goes to show even an ungodly preacher can be covered by God.

I don't judge anyone. I've let go of my past. I support fighting to abolish at-will employment because it grants power to cheesecake trash who have been deceived into believing that only the strong survive. That's the devil's game. Anyone can experience a stroke and die, and that will take away all power. God Bless you Mr. Olsteen. I hope one day that that you truly do come understand Jesus. Me too. It's tough to become like God's amazing Son.

I do not judge people, but, please consider some advice that I believe Jesus, himself, would endorse: Instead of just preaching, I think that you should also create spiritual support groups, and financial advisor who can help others to get financial help from the government that will help the poor people to be able to get food and shelter. Jesus said give to the poor. Well, maybe you don't want to let go of any of your money, but, certainly providing spiritual support and directing people on how to get help when they need it is equally as good. You know, Sir, I attend a small church, and our Pastor doesn't have a lot of money, but, quite frequently, he has what we call a food pantry that helps to contribute something to helping the needy. You have a lot of people who attend that church. Do you ever take up offerings where some of it is used to host food panties and to provide poor people with shelter? That's Jesus' work. Like I said, I do not judge people, but I truly do hope that you really are doing God's work.

Chief, instead of playing politics about gun laws, how about you talk about what needs to be fixed with your officers not responding properly?

At no time does Joel make any direct statement to address the victims themselves in this circumstance. Whether he contacted any of them outside of the public statements I do not know, but this comes across as treating people as an audience, and not as human beings.
