Brilliant news. Give him what he deserves. Look at what we are missing when he doesn’t play. As indifferent as our season has been with horrible injuries, we sit only 2 points off sixth. Had jo been available the whole season I think we could’ve got CL again. A midfield of jo, Bruno and Sandro plus Miley, and Anderson is reserve for next season is a brilliant midfield squad. Could move longstaff on to get a win on fsp.

You cannot buy another Joelinton. He is absolutely unique in style. There are players who can do some of what he does. There are better players but Joe is this bizarre mix of attributes where things just... Work. He nicks the ball from strange angles and plays nice little passes for others to run on to whilst being able to carry the ball 40 yards and put a cross in. He's turned from looking like one of the worst players we've ever had to one of the most incredible, one of a kind players we've ever had!

It's no coincidence we started shipping goals when he got injured. The injury to Pope didn't help but we were shipping goals before popes injury. Joelinton does the grunt work. Keeps the ball and gets in the face of opponents absolutely worth this deal

Quite right Only Bruno and Isak have any claim to more. Some may say Gordon but I think he is growing into his massive potential but isn’t there yet. Tonali will hopefully turn out to be in that level

Makes sense to make him one of the highest-paid players at the club IMO. He is a great team player and we miss him. Makes no sense to sell him and then spend money + wages to take a gamble on a new player

We don't need "a striker", we need a minimum of two to form a solid strike force with Isak. As sad as it is, we can't really justify including Wilson given his injury issues & through no fault of his own, he can't be built in to any plans for next season. What we also can't do is assume that we won't have the same injury issues, yes, the club will look at the injury situation in the summer but that will be a massive, if not impossible, task & there's every chance that next season will be very similar to this one. No idea what the solution is but let's hope for the best.

It’s not just he’s a terrific player who Newcastle want to keep, by lengthening his contract and securing him it elevates his asset value to the club. These guys; Bruno, Isaak, Gordon, Linton, Trippier, Botman, Schar, Livaremento - are key top quality players who need to be on long term contracts and competitive wages. The rest of the team can be built around them.

This is massive. They need to keep the key players on board and slowly build around them. The only thing that has held us back this season is fitness, if we can get a few utility players on top of what we have, next season will be massive.

I think joelintons athleticism and strength in midfield is crazy for me he's just as important as a bruno or tonali and what a midfield that is if they can stay fit and out the bookies

Fantastic they’ve given Jo a new contract. Would cost a fortune to replace him so the extra wages are worth it. We need to keep hold of our elite/very good players if we are to consistently improve as a club. Start shipping out the older, injury prone and garbage for whatever we can get for them and put it towards the transfer pot.

NUFC has to go for high calibre players but has to sort out injuries concern. And have two players of high quality to compete. Dummet ,Richie Target & Wilson has to go maybe Murphy or Miggy to make room for Minteh.

J7 can cover lw cf not his ideal prem level role now that hes shown the passion in mid ball winning. To form a better partnership with Isak you need to be placing him on our team sheet. The old FFP advert rev was behind the times for issuing good contracts. Rotating reevaluation of injuries with the talent put us back up in top6 for the Cup challenges and Euro Cups

We have 7 midfielders when Tonali is back. Longstaff, Guimieres, Tonali, Willock, Joelinton, Anderson and Miley. If we only have a small budget we should concentrate on centre back, winger and a striker.

I would laugh if Longstaff asked to be payed anywhere near the wages of Bruno or Isak. I would point him in the direction of the nearest exit. Big Joe deserves to be payed to that level because he is absolutely critical to our team. The next person on the payroll scale should be Pope or Tripps. Signing Big Joe for more years with the toon is a no brainer. To replace him would require a player at least 70-90 mil pounds and even then it would be hard to find someone as technically good and a physical power unit.

Longstaff is an important player for Newcastle, give him a rise as well. Joelinton is irreplaceable & deserves to be on big wages, he’s a Trojan. As for your comment about Longstaff 🥱 get behind the lad or buy a ticket & take the bus to Sunderland, if you don’t want to support the team, or are indeed just a plastic fan.

Let’s not forget, we were terrible & couldn’t win a game when Longstaff was out of the team earlier in season with an injury. The guy is an excellent player & give’s a good balance to the team, he doesn’t do the pretty stuff, so doesn’t get the rightful recognition he deserves. Give him credit, He’s playing with an injury & has injections before each game, he needs a rest but has to keep playing because of injuries.

NEVER compare a 17yo and Sean Lomgstaff to Joelinton ever again. In answer to your final question, no, they won’t ask for more money. Because Joelinton, Bruno and Isak are elite players - Miley and Sean are nowhere near. Be more knowledgeable

Sorry but he's average at best. Injury prone. Gets knocked down so easily considering how big he is. Has is moments but has a poor work rate etc. Sorry but he would be one of the first out the door for me. Keeping him suggests he will be instrumental to team. I do not see it.
