There are books about all kinds of families from families going through a divorce to losing a parent to kids in foster care and they are for both the kids who might be going through similar things, but also kids who might know other kids with families like that. Just like books about kids who wet the bed teach compassion to kids who don't but make kids who do feel less alone, like when I was a kid it was Ira Sleeps Over about a little boy going on his first sleepover and being embarrassed that he needed to sleep with his teddy bear and he didn't want to not bring it but he didn't want to sleep without it but he didn't want anyone to know. Being afraid of teaching kids that some families are different than theirs is just so weird?

Joe Lycett is what Channel 4 should be doing more with their comedy - His Late Night Lycett show is brilliant - we need more edgy comedy like this on Channel 4, instead of the dull and dreary Last leg which now feels ancient and the never ending Cats Does Countdown and Gogglebox pumped out. Channel 4 used to be hard satirical comedy - come on, do more of this.

No not really, he's trolling the media and the right wing. The trouble with Joe's comedy is that it doesn't translate super well to snippets because it's all part of a much larger scheme and that context gets lost.

I was going to say, it shocked me to heat that he's right wing, because of his lifestyle, sexuality and general personality. I'm not wording this very well. I don't think they're frightened. The right is just such a mess right now that you either indulge conspiracy theories and blind hate, or you shut it down. The portion of the right that's still capable of conversation seems to dwindle every day, often getting pushed out by more extreme elements of their own side.

Assuming you're talking about the acronym, there's catch-all umbrella terms which have been around for a while, and then over time more specific terms developing. For instance, anything gender non-conforming generally falls under the queer umbrella. But more specifically, there's trans and enby, which come with different challenges. Trans included both trans men and trans women, who again each face different challenges. Enby (non-binary) is also an umbrella term, incorporating people who don't feel like they're any particular gender, or people who feel like a mix, or that feel like different genders in different circumstances. More terms enter usage as these various nuances and specificities get discussed more.

Yeah it's very different in the US, there actually are books in New Jersey in schools that teach young kids how to have sechhs, geih and otherwise. When those parents protest in the US it actually is because the schools are putting that in early curriculums--not teaching health, which would generally include prevention, not having it, and contraceptives, but just straight up pron stuff about positions and so on. Also, isn't it annoying that in order to have a conversation about these topics on YT, one has to spell like an absolute twaaaat?

what's your source for this? i have never heard of this genuinely happening. also, fwiw, abstinence education (aka "not having it") is completely useless and ineffective. they're going to have sex at some point, whether that's as teens or as adults. by not teaching them about safe sex you are leaving them vulnerable.

I’m an NJ resident and my siblings are still in school, and to be quite honest: this is so blatantly wrong I suspect you’re lying, either because you know it’s wrong or because you know you haven’t been to NJ and you spoke with false confidence, which I still count as lying.
