You need to take the crown from Eddie Trunk, you bring on interesting and sometimes obscure guests (which are mainly the ones I wanna hear from) ask all the right questions, are respectful, and you don’t make everything about KiSS. I’d love to have a beer with you brother!

I agree. Jason is definitely a better representative of "us" & our love & era of music. I still struggle with how Eddie became so popular. I'm glad there's someone out there that's still doing interviews trying to keep music alive but.... Not only, KISS but also UFO. I love both bands but Eddie does get stuck on the two. Oh, & I agree Jason is a much better interviewer.

I believe Jani dedicated his performance on DogEatDog to Joey - a very underrated guitar player. Wish Joey had elaborated more on his personal relationship with Jani. One of the best songwriters of the era. There has been a lot of talk about who was with Jani the night he passed. Someone took him to the motel and left him there alone. He could have made a difference on all this tragedy. Also, It might be interesting to hear what Steven has to say. He was VERY close to Jani since the beginning- he had a fallout with Jani and left the band not in great terms. He also battled cancer recently- could be a great interview.

I saw Warrant at a place in Dover Delaware called Tap Works. They told us it was the smallest club they had ever played. There were maybe 12 to 15 people in there. They were sharing the bill with a band called D'Molls. We hung out with Warrant backstage and yes we were like where in the hell did these guys come from. They actually took photos there and were used in their ads for Shure Microphones. We sat and listened to them talk about the deal they were about to sign with Ibanez from already being with Carvin. Steven talked to me about his deal with Pearl. They invited us to come see them at their next stop at Hammer Jacks, but we didn't know how to get there and ended up going to New Jersey where i was from to a bar called the Galaxy. We sat next to the bass player from Britney Fox, then Tom Keifer had just walked in and the band playing was called Heavens Edge. it was still and awesome night.

Man...crazy to hear about Beau. Saw them on DRFSR and to this day, one of the best SOUNDING dual guitar bands I ever saw live. They sounded soo good the first night, I was blown away and rolled up all my change and me and the drummer in my band went to go buy a ticket for the next night! They were both solid players. First time I have seen Joey interviewed in all these years and man, seems like the most down to earth guy. Cool interview.

Great performer and so glad I saw this interview. Thanks Jason. Jani Lane was the “Genius” however in the band Warrant. All the guys though made Jani’s vision come alive. Dog Eat Dog is so prolific and Jani saw the future where we almost are there now April 2031 and Andy Warhol was right! Every song on Dog Eat Dog is a masterpiece! Cherry Pie and Dirty Rotton one of the greatest debut albums from the era if not the best!

It's funny he says "There are no Eddie Van Halen's in this band". Both Eddie and Steve Vai say Allan Holdsworth was the best they've ever seen (by a mile). Vai says Holdsworth does things that haven't been invented yet. There is always someone better, even if you are EVH or Vai. Creativity is very individual. Different people can help stimulate creativity. Joey had been in bands for years, a very good player. On a first record, the Producer calls the shots. Simple as that.

Great interview! I saw Warrant on the club tour they did with D’Molls prior to DRFSR being released. Those guys had it together. I saw them probably three more times while they toured that record. I had never seen a band work harder. Then they release Cherry Pie... and they lost me. I thought it was a dismal record. I could never get into it at all. By the way, it would be nice to hear from Desi Rexx from D’Molls... and he was super-talented. That band killed it live. The first record was terrific (though the production was lacking). Whose idea was it to release 777 as the single? The song was nothing like the rest of the album. It seems they had zero support from Atlantic on either record. Someone from that band would make a good interview.

Every record label has a couple bands that are meant to be tax write offs I think. For Atlantic Records those bands were D'Molls, Dirty Looks and Hericane Alice. Atlantic signed them, released them and then just kinda backed off and did next to nothing for those bands.

Joey and the guys knew to the best that they could know about Jani's demons. I don't think it's a lack of empathy--being sexually assaulted as a male, that's such a mind-f---. When Joey spoke about Jani's difficulties, I sensed he knew about the attack, but wouldn't delve anything further out of respect for Jani. I think the other guys feel the same way. Im sure you appreciate youtube. Having a channel here. We seems to be both Genx pushing 50s? So we know life without internet. Can you imagine this internet thing going off in a future because of whatever they...decide or because of some wars. Then you could put all your work on dvds. One dvd episide on the road. Some other dvd interview with that guy, another one with this guy. Youd be making tge money that you deserve. I think internet is killing arts and businesses. I remember the 80s seeing my musical heroes just going on stage and looking at them and say hey thats Stephen look he is walking..lol Now we know even what they had for breakfast. Keep doing what you are doing you are real and there is no fake and acting in it. You are a 1% but in being honest in the music world. Not being bad. All of you here. Jason Jason Jason

I am assuming he means Axl Rose when he references Nazareth.

Warrant was a long time before me but I’m trying to understand bringing an outsider in to do solos during the recording and why would they bring in CC for the solo on Cherry Pie and with this being such a huge song trying to play his solo live night after night 🤷🏻‍♀️

Stop apologizing for having a hot chick in your video, and perpetuating cancel culture. Shes the only reason you sold those records.

Sweet. Dare you to talk to him about the guy that played all his solos on the Warrant albums Mike slammer...Nah I think that's a touchy subject. I still find it fascinating though I always thought it was joey and here I was praising him for his great writing and playing. Felt betrayed a little bit though finding out it wasn't him. Not betrayed , I don't know what I felt honestly. Must suck for him too though having to deal with it.

@Hillside Chalet True, but I went on thinking he wrote them. I found it weird it was a secret too.

Guarantee its been a 30 year nightmare for Joey and Eric, makes them look awful. But Beau Hill's job is to produce hits, and he sure has. He knows what it takes. It is what it is.

Enough already. It's such a non-story. It's been 40 years practically. yeah, they were young guitarists. So they brought someone else in to do the solos. Bottom line is, they've been in the band all these years and they've been playing the stuff live.

@@WasteSomeTimewithJasonGreen just listened to it. yea, you can hear the influence for Kick. kinda like Crazy Train and Lighting Strikes. both played in the same position & strings, but picked different.

Watching live footage of early warrant on support of DRFSR the solos werent what you heard on the record. So I don't think Beua did helped the band. Having a 'stunt' guitarist is a shit idea in my opinion

In 87-88 Warrant beat the shit out of all the other bands on the strip! There was really no comparison.
