Always wondered how Kierin Kirby's lovely voice would sound over a modern groove...Dave Lee (FKA Joey Negro) sprung to mind instantly!
Funny enough, Lee's productions have their roots firmly planted in the 70s sound, so go figure! Kier's coming full circle with Deee-Lite's original sound and their love for the 70s and Funk in general.

@@mikaelbohman6694....and has seemingly disappeared off the face of the planet. If you're a longtime fan, having her fall off the radar every now and then isn't concerning, but there's been a bit of discourse primarily on Reddit about her becoming a Trumpist, which unless she's _really_ lost the will to live, she'd find appalling. But her Twitter's been deactivated and her other social media accounts have had almost no activity. I don't think she's the type that hits a certain age and lets it get the best of her, so I'm just gonna remain optimistic and fantasize that she's finally found a music distributor and is merely putting the final touches on the album she's been promising for twenty-five years.

I want to sincerely thank you for this. Quality remixes/mashups of "Groove is in the Heart" are exceedingly rare, but this video did something even more profound for me: It gave me a momentary glimpse of what it felt like to have seen that music video for the first time when I was eleven years old, a tiny gay boy in the middle of nowhere (Wisconsin). I was absolutely dazzled by it and in the 33 years between then and now, it literally molded me into the person I am today. I've heard this song hundreds of times, took my stage name from it, and in a day that will always be a surreal dream that brought the whole story full circle, I even performed it live with Lady Miss Kier herself. Until today, the years had somewhat fogged up my ability to recapture that magic. I really needed it, so thank you. With the world as it is right now, we could all use a bit more Deee-Lite. As the Lady herself says, "I couldn't ask for another."

excellent work & masterpiece of funk - the funky guitar makes the difference! where did you get the inspiration for that riff? [couldn't find it yet] and this bass line and synth riffs/pads sound really cool aswell, where is it from? the whole instrumental arrangement sounds firmly like Jamiroquai
