Opening six changed so much in comparison to the previous openings because the story drastically changes and shifts it's main enemy's role.. You don't feel like you are following the hero of the story anymore

They never "talk" about the hero of the story tho. Openings 1-3 speak from humanity's perspective, OP 4 does change focus to Historia and Eren but on a personal level, not heroic. OP 5 talks about humanity (within the walls) again. OP 6 is about war in general and OP 7 is, ironically, completely and absolutely about Eren, from his POV and all

Opening 3 was meant to be the nostalgia opening, it's the season where we start to find out more about the childhood of the characters that's why it's deceptively happy, it's going back to times where things were seemingly more simple than they are now. As much as I love the other hype openings, that's why opening 3 is my favorite

You have Eren looking back at his childhood and that of the people he knows and seeing what their lifes were like before it all became the mess they become in the future. Since he could only have acess to the paths through the founder titan then that is Eren after he started the rumbling.

My War is by far my favourite. 1, is iconic, 2 is underrated, 3 is also iconic, 4 is underrated as FUCK, 5 is messy as hell. 7 Is badass. But there's just something about My War that feels so.. Fitting. It's confusing, it's chaotic, it's dramatic, and even a little creepy in some areas. Just like the show. It's capturing the horror of the scenario's the characters are in and the tragedy of war.

Great reaction, your reactions are always full of life. I also recomend doing the full version of the openings and endings with lyrics because the lyrics are amazing and full of meaning. You could separate the reactions in 7 doing a op and ed 1 and then 2 and so on till 7 considering all the songs are 5 minutes long. Also you're the first reactor I saw notice the beast titan voice in op 5

There is a reference to the main melody of "Guren Nu Yumiya" in the full versions of openings 2, 3, and 5 too. Listen to the full versions if you haven't already, and have your brain absolutely fuckin melted by the sheer brilliance of the music.

Favorite part about the openings and endings done by Linked Horizon is the fact that they all take samples of each other and at the end of Season 3 it feels like the epic culmination of so many years. It's absolutely incredible!!

I would also recommend the outros a couple of them are slow and a couple are fast but most are good (yes I even consider the creepy singing children one good because it accomplishes its vibe so well). As Joey was saying for the second intro, both the music writers are quite sneaky in that they introduce older themes in random ways. I think it was the entire second season three intro that was a bunch of call backs to songs from throughout the series and if you aren't listening you may not notice it.

Bro Opening 5 "Shoukei to Shikabane no Michi", is one of the best for me, literally the combination of 4 songs if I remember correctly, and plus hearing the piano version, you can clearly hear the different songs.

The lyrics of the last song are so deep in the context of the season. "All I wanted to do is to protect you... to save your life... If I loose it all I will never look away... live to day another day. Rumbling" --Procedes to wage war against all humanity--. It actually adds a lot of context to what happens

12:41 Notice the amount of self-quoting that Linked Horizon does here. It goes from referring to the first opening immediately to quoting part of the third (Sasageyo), then upon saying the word "Requiem" it refers to the ending song of season 3 part 1, Akatsuki no Requiem, even showing the same visual of Historia stepping on water or blood or whatever that is. Then if you check Akatsuki no Requiem, when it says the word "sasageta" (same as sasageyo but a different conjugation) it starts temporarily playing the melody of Sasageyo. AOT songs are full of this and this makes it a little more regrettable that Linked Horizon wasn't there for season 4

Even though Red Swan OST might sound like a happy song but I truly believe that it's actually about the losing of the innocent that the characters had when they were kids or it might be about the innocent that they never experienced the chance to have as kids.

I think Linked Horizon did it on purpose, because the lyrics of their songs are like telling the story. An example (from my point of view): The 1st op. talks about the protagonists' determination to be the hunters (soldiers) and never be the hunted again.

what's really cool to me is that each of the themes have a meaning. the first are somewhat propaganda style, fighting the titans-rallying under a kind of anthem. then S3 comes, and because it's all mainly backstories, it's a nostalgic song. the big ones are my war, which goes back to the anthem kind of thing, but they know the truth now and they want a war. rumbling is the big one. the screaming voice is what eren's giving everyone, the part of him that wants to see the world burn. the soft voice is the inner eren, the part of him that hates himself for such a monstrous act being committed. the one I like the least is the one after the soft opener for part1 of S3. as for the one I like most...BEWAAAAAAAAAARE!

The lyrics of the full version of Guren no Yomiya either in German or English is a straight-up foreshadowing of the Entire plot which was released almost 10 years ago(it even mentioned Eren)
