Don't you ever wish You were someone else You were meant to be The way you are exactly Don't you ever say You don't like the way you are When you learn to love yourself You're better off by far And I hope you always stay the same 'Cause there's nothing 'bout you I would change I think that you could be Whatever you wanted to be If you could realize All the dreams you have inside Don't be afraid If you got something to say Just open up your heart, and let it show you the way Don't you ever wish You were someone else You were meant to be The way you are exactly Don't you ever say You don't like the way you are When you learn to love yourself You're better off by far And I hope you always stay the same 'Cause there's nothing 'bout you I would change Believe in yourself Reach down inside The love you find will set you free Believe in yourself You will come alive Have faith in what you do You'll make it through, whoa, whoa Hey Don't you ever wish You were someone else (oh, yeah) You were meant to be (you were meant to be) The way you are exactly Don't you ever say (oh, whoa) You don't like the way you are (woo) When you learn to love yourself (love yourself) You're better off by far And I hope you always stay the same (stay the same) 'Cause there's nothing 'bout you I would change (change) No, there's nothing 'bout you I would change Don't change ❤❤❤

I am Japanese. I still love this song. At that time, it was very difficult to find this CD in Japan. HMV, Virgin Megastore, and finally I found Tower Records in Sapporo. I was probably around 19 years old at that time. I am now 42 years old. I hope everyone continues to stay healthy. Long live the same generation😊2024.01.22🎉

I recently introduced this song to my daughter who will soon be 8 yrs old..I told her that this is my song for her because she always says how she wants to be like this person and that person and wishes she wasn't who she is..I told her to listen to the lyrics and she would understand why I have chosen it for her. She has only heard the song a hand full of times now and knows about every word by heart..She just asked me if I knew what changed her mood to be happy again was..I asked what it was..she said it was this song..She says she really loves this song..This song rings so true and will never get old..To my baby girl, I love you always, always remember when you aren't feeling yourself and feel like being someone else, remember this song I dedicate to you..❤❤❤🌹🌹🌹🙏🙏🙏

Such simple lyrics but so fundamental and hits hard in the feels. What really spoke to me was the part “you were meant to be the way you are exactly”. Feels like the song is speaking to my younger self and reassuring me that I turned up the way exactly I am meant to be in this world. ❤ Hope the people listening and watching this video know that you are meant to be in this world exactly as you are. My brother gave me this song too. I was quite clueless at first. Before I pursued my studies, he gave me this song. I was growing up 'alone' almost all the time because of years gap with my siblings. Having family conflict & he never shows how worried he is. Then, I realized that I've to be true to myself at all means. Be a good person. Until today I keep this song real close to me. He was quite protective & caring at the same time. He is like a replacement to my late father. It was 11 years back he gave me this song. I'm looking forward to play this song during my wedding this July. Hope he remember this song.

One of my fav songs of all time. This song is partly responsible for the confidence i had, to pursue my dreams and believe in myself when i was younger. Now, i realize the power a message whether in song/poem/ movie, etc. can actually change a life, even if it be just ONE or FEW. The impact is so powerful that it can change the WORLD, no matter how little. Thank you!

And I hope you always stay the same, cuz there's nothin' 'bout you I would change. [Verse] I think that you could be whatever you wanted to be If you could realize, all the dreams you have inside. Don't be afraid if you've got something to say, Just open up your heart and let it show you the way. [Chorus] [Bridge] Believe in yourself. Reach down inside. The love you find will set you free. Believe in yourself, you will come alive. Have faith in what you do. You'll make it through. [Chorus]

If they don't like you for who you are then they are nothing but a passerby in your life. You were made the way you are for a reason, you never need to change. There's something special about the late '90s vibe that many of us miss. The music, the fashion, the overall atmosphere-it all seemed to exude a sense of nostalgia and simplicity that's hard to find nowadays. Whether it's the iconic boy bands and pop divas ruling the airwaves or the thrill of watching classic movies and TV shows, there's a certain charm to that era that's hard to replicate. It was a time before smartphones and social media took over our lives, allowing us to fully immerse ourselves in the moment without constant digital distractions. So, it's completely understandable to feel a sense of longing for those simpler times when life seemed a little bit more carefree and the world felt a bit smaller.

Even though I’m a 1998 baby, NKOTB is one of my favorite bands to date. I was so happy when my mom took me to one of their concerts, because I just watched one of the best bands of all time perform. I’m proud to say that I am a Joey girl, and forever will be. He is so incredibly talented, and his love and passion is intensified when he sings. Not only that but, he’s very handsome as well. So beyond blessed that I got introduced to this amazing band❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

This is my favorite song when I was in elementary and even now I still sing this song every time I feel low. Nobody believed in me when I was a kid. People always think that I can't do things right. In school I was always bullied for being a little slow. I studied harder when I was in highschool and ranked higher than the bullies. Now I am the general manager in the company I work at. I always cry when I look back and remember the past.

I have to admit it was his music I heard first from his group in the 80’s. I had to wait a decade and a half to appreciate his group’s music from the 80’s.

This song has real meaning’s to people who don’t believe in their self. So beautiful love it. Think before you try to change yourself because God made you the way you are. We are changing ourselves not thinking we are the same inside. We are changing our outside thinking we are going to be better but not true. Be happy people. Thank God for everything.

I just randomly started singing this song at work today in the bathroom. I kept humming the tune and for a minute I was wondering if I was making up the tune, until the lyrics came back to me. It was nostalgic and cathartic...I had to search for it on KZfaq...but for a minute I thought the singer was Savage Garden lol. Either way, its a beautiful song and it really takes me back.
