This is the most "Yeah, I'm a human being with ears that can hear" tier list I've seen. You actually expressed almost all of my thoughts going through their discography. I would like to add that Codex and Give Up the Ghost do stand out in The King of Limbs and are actually really good. And the most important are b-sides like the Daily Mail and Spectre, they are outstanding album material and should be more recognised
@tomasrocha612
@tomasrocha612 2 жыл бұрын
But spectre isn't a b-side to TKOL, if I'm not mistaken they made it when they were working on A Moon Shaped Pool and they were asked to make a song for 007 Spectre (imo it would be the best James Bond song)

I actually really like The King Of Limbs. It's pretty short, and it doesn't do anything really revolutionary, but the sound design and stuff is just... Pleasant to listen to. Nice and cohesive noise. For me, A Moon Shaped Pool is probably my favorite album from them, right next to In Rainbows. It's, IMHO, their most cohesive album, every song played in the perfect order. It doesn't make you wanna dance around so much, but to compensate, it makes you fkn levitate with songs like Burn The Witch and Desert Island Disk

Everything in the Right Place is a banger of an opening in Kid A, but damn does Give Up the Ghost and Separator haunt you well after the album ends. I have been waiting for you to do a video on Radiohead but I didn’t know you actually would 😩👌🏻 Personally my favourite album is AMSP but think it might be from sentimental value and memories I have from that time. Also King of Limbs is criminally misunderstood and if you listen to the Live From The Basement versions of the songs, you begin to enjoy them more (speaking from lots of fans opinions) eg. Bloom has so many layers to it that you understand more when listening to the live acoustic or in concert so it clicks more in your mind? I guess? Ok i’ve rambled enough I just love Radiohead

Radiohead take joint 1st place as my favourite band, with Simple Minds. Being quite opinionated I'm shocked that I mostly agree with this tier list! Other than Pablo Honey which should be in "Let's forget this exists" because if you remove Creep (which is overrated anyway) it's the most bland forgettable indie album possible, which is why The Bends was so excellent as it was a complete change in direction, and then Kid A is just GOATed.

I know its all subjective, but TKOL is so underrated. I feel like it really delivers on the album experience. The flow is really trippy. I think the right expectations and mood are necessary. Bloom is like some opening, like you're being born and your senses are being attacked from all angles. Then the next 3 are super rhythmic high energy percussion filled pieces... real head bobbers. Then Lotus Flower is the transition from the chaos to peace... Codex and Give Up The Ghost being super melodic but lacking that percussive energy. Kind of like a last breath sort of feel after the chaos. And then Seperator is like an appreciation for it all... almost a hint that it was just all just a cycle and you can take the trip again. Great driving album.

Finally! always wanted to know what your thoughts on radiohead were since I saw a comment of yours in one of their videos. I think King of Limbs deserved better, ones you get used to the sound of the album it gets pretty good, it has that vibe of mixing electronic with acoustic, which is what got me into them. Not as good as A Kid, obviously, but not as bad as people say

i absolutely love packt like sardines in a crushd tin box as an album opener. all the other radiohead openers before amnesiac are very in your face loud rock pieces with distorted guitars and big loud drums (minus everything in its right place, although that song also has pretty loud dynamics towards the end) while packt like sardines is nice and chill. its like the album welcomes you with a warm blanket and a mug of hot chocolate and tells you to sit back and enjoy the ride. if 15 step or everything in its right place didnt exist it would probably be my favourite radiohead opening track ngl.

You forgot Kid A Mnesia is their latest album. It`s a combo album but apparently there is exclusive stuff in it.

Mostly agree, but I honestly put Moon Shaped Pool in the perfect category. It took me a few listen throughs to finally appreciate it. So many good tracks, and the transitions are so seemless that it feels like a nice smooth melancholic ride. Also Fulstop and Present Tense hit hard

i really expect to see more of these music tier lists and insights on your channel, Joey. Life in a glass house probably is my favorite Radiohead song, followed by where i end and you begin, i guess. Anyways, keep up the good work, dude.

Love Radiohead. Love this tier list. One exception that kind of bummed me out was Hail To the Thief - easily a perfect album for me, and may just be my favorite. It is such a haunting album - super gloomy and nostalgic. I have had dinner parties in the past where my friends and I listen to Hail To the Thief all the way through. The reaction is usually awe... Anyway, came about watching this channel because of Anime, Manga, Trash Taste, etc. Thrilled about this type of content as well.

I shamefully admit I started with Kid A, and it just defined what I liked about Radiohead. I love Ok Computer, and In Rainbows, but the sounds that I heard in Kid A were just defining for me. I admit if I started with any other album I'd have a much more interesting thoughts of Radiohead, but Kid A is life.
