Follow along for Days 80 to 82 of our End-to-End hike across the UK where we finished the Offa's Dyke Path in Chepstow.
Hiking in the Black Mountains and through the Wye Valley was definitely a highlight of the ODP, it was simply stunning. We finally had some drier weather and really enjoyed that last stretch with its beautiful landscape and great views.
Route:
Hay-on-Wye - Pandy (17.4mi/28km)
Pandy-Monmouth (18.8mi/30,3km)
Monmouth-Chepstow (18mi/28,9km)
-- In April 2023, I set off on my biggest adventure so far: A 1600mile long hike all across Britain from Dunnet Head in Scotland to Lizard Point in Cornwall. I'm going solo with my rescue dog Otto, (wild) camping along the way. --
My dream is to make a living out of my passion for being outdoors, hiking and creating videos that brighten your day! If you enjoy the videos and want to support our adventure with a treat for Otto and a coffee for me:

Your support means the world and I’m really grateful!
I’m a bit behind on posting these videos (filming and editing while on trail is quite a task!) but I'm uploading new videos every Sunday and Wednesday now so that I can catch up quickly and be more up-to-date.
Please subscribe (it’s free :)) if you want to stay up to date and support my work. That would really mean a lot!
Thank you so much!

Tintern Abbey is so lovely! Pity about the closed paths; contractors and councils don't realise how difficult it is for walkers to suddenly find a path is closed. I remember this section well, it was here that I finally convinced my dad that walking poles were useful, after he slithered around in a load of mud! After that he was never without them.

That's so true - most of the time it's quite a bit of a hassle when a path is closed! I loved the Wye Valley and Tintern Abbey, it's so stunning :)

once again a very enjoyable video, nice weather for a change, Otto looked a bit weary with those horses, those chips sure looked delicious, as always looking forward to your next adventure. 😊

Hi Elli and Otto. Well I'm not going to say rest your back and I'm not gonna say take care, because I know you've already finished and you're probably at home with your feet up and a nice cup of coffee planning your next adventure. However another great video with some beautiful views. I'm still very impressed at how far you walked. As for that tunnel I've never seen or even heard about it before, so very interesting. ✌️😋

Thank you so much, George! Luckily, the pain just went away as sudden as it came up - although I did a lot of stretching, so that probably helped too :) Yes, I'm already planning my next hikes (in the UK, of course ;)). My trail "bucket list" just got longer this year, hahaha :)

I really enjoy your journey through all the different landscapes you encounter on this epic walking adventure . I found your You Tube videos first when you reachedThe Pennine Way so now I got to go back to the starting point. Would be a shame to miss out on any footage. Take care🌸Greetings from Norway

Thank you so much :) Yes, the moment with the pony was magical :) It was very young and so interested in Otto and at some point their noses touched for a second which was the sweetest thing ever 😇

It's great seeing how others see and appreciate our incredible countryside. The Black Mountains are about 5 miles from my back door in Herefordshire and I'm up there most weekends either hiking or Mountain biking, and if you ever get the chance again, hiring a Canoe and packing it with your camping gear for a multi day trip from the foot of the Black Mountains at Glasbury/Hay on Wye, through Herefordshire and the Wye Valley and down to Monmouth in the Summer months, is probably one of the best and most picturesque trips you can do in the UK in a canoe. 🙂

That's such a beautiful area, you're very lucky :) I've never done a camping trip with a canoe before, but that's definitely on my list - sp keeping that in mind :) Thank you so much for your feedback!
