Wunderbare Aufführung ! Vielen Dank ! Den dritten Satz habe ich so noch nie gehört, ganz großartig. Ungebändigte archaische Wildheit. Bach hat hier, ganz anders als sonst, Rauhheit und Schönheit miteinander verbunden und das Orchester und der Solist werden dem voll gerecht. Danke ! Das wunderbare Ambiente von unser lieben Frauen macht es noch stimmiger.

I just discovered your channel and subscribed immediately upon hearing this performance! I love this concerto which is so seldom performed. An articulate and nuanced performance. Loved the Largo. Mr. Sinkovsky's playing is sublime. Now I must watch all your videos!

Completely original and innovative in every way. Bremer Baroque keeps outdoing themselves! The lute on the second movement coupled with the wonderful ornamentation was sublime. 9:07-9:11 what happened to the video?

Großartige Interpretation des Konzerte BWV 1056 von Dmitry Sinkovsky (in dieser Fassung für Violine). Besonders gut gefällt mir die doppelte Besetzung der Celli, der Kontrabass und das wunderbare Basso continuo von Nadine Remmert (Cembalo) und Hugo de Rodas (Laute). Diese tiefen gewaltigen Töne sind Bachs Musik würdig. Danke an das zauberhafte Ensemble. Die Musik hat mich vom Hocker gerissen, obwohl ich lieber auf den harten Bänken in „Unser Lieben Frauen“ gesessen hätte

Wait a second, this is literally his Concerto No. 5 in F minor for Harpsichord but with a violin instead. How could that be?

Most if not all of his harpsichord concerti were derived from other works. If one of his harpsichord concerti's BWV number has a R, it means that it's a reconstruction. For example, the BWV 1052 harpsichord concerto becomes a violin concerto as BWV 1052R, BWV 1060 becomes a concerto for violin & oboe as BWV 1060R and so on.

@@georgebowyer8823 Interesting. I don't find this as tuneful... or maybe memorable or "catchy" is a better word, as the other Bach violin concertos. It also doesn't seem as difficult. I'm going to have to do more research on it. The second movement is quite nice though, and allows the theorbo (if that's what that is) player some space to share the wonderful quality that instrument brings.

@@rnhtube Interesting, I find this concert very tuneful. Which of Bach's concertos do you consider as more catchy, or could it be you listened more to the other ones up to this point?

@@someone3187 I'm sure a great deal of it is because I've listened to and played them for decades, but the double, E, and a (BWV 1041-1043) have an almost pop sensibility to them. I don't find any of the melodies in this "new" one particularly artful nor are there any standout moments which I don't think can be said of 1041-1043. I am interested in the history of this piece; when it was written, how it was reconstructed, that sort of thing so maybe after enough listens I will change my mind but I leave it up to the people of youtube who watch baroque performances to weigh in.

@@BremerBarockorchester That's a silly convention. It may be the function of his part but is he or is he not playing a lute? Surely he deserves to be named on his instrument, as does Nadine Remmert! Such snobbery alienates less educated people from an excellent performance. Please call a lute a lute.
