I’m made up this has dropped! John Barnes was reason I got into football, still best player I’ve ever seen live, when Liverpool beat Derby 7-1 at baseball ground. Top 10 all time Red for me just personally 👍🏾⚽️🇬🇭🍷

My favourite player growing up, you always felt something would happen whenever he got on the ball. His dribbling skill was phenomenal, he could beat players for fun and bang in worldies. Barnes, Beardsley and Rush an absolute joy to watch stood in the kop with my late dad, fantastic memories.

Wish I could be optimistic and calm like Barnes but we fans couldnt help abt the hunger for the team and the players to win and back in glory

John Barnes is a class act and I'm so gutted I never got to see him play, nor ever met him for a drink in person. He used to pop up in The Shrew when I lived on the Wirral 15 years ago, but I was never there when he was and although my first game was Norwich away in 1984 (on holiday aged 6), I then didn't get to another game until I finally went to Anfield in November 1997 (when Owen got his first hat trick in the league cup). He is so right about not worrying about the team being good enough to win the title until you get into March. We, the fans, need to help get the team there, but this team needs time to mature into a high quality team. They are clearly good players and they are clearly exceeding most of our expectations from just 4 months ago, so we just need to see how close they can get over the following 5 months. If they're ready enough already then f-ing great. But, if they need another season to fully mature then let's hope that City's slump continues as I'd be gutted to miss out by a single point once more. Up the reds!!

Agree about van Dijk but Neil needs to acknowledge that him not playing mid week games has definitely helped him.

One prime.issue barnes skipped over is that, yes, the midfield is tracking back and recovering better out of posession. And this is helping to make.the D look better but ... Are FBs are NOT bombing fwd and making oppo defenses defend a wide pitch all.the way to the byline. So we've regained a meaaure of our former solidity , but we have yet to regain the full measure of O threat we carried at our pomp.

Graham Taylor use have his players run through patches of Stinging Nettles, but Luther and Barnes did not, what happened to them for disobeying the boss

I love Mo Salah but he is not playing well. he needs to release the ball and play for one-twos because he can't beat people on the outside anymore . Barnes was my hero as a kid and the more I learned about the game, the more I respected him. He understood what he was capabale of, and adapted. Mo needs to do the same.

Clueless, Nunez you say no goals in his last 10 games, who the --- scored against Argentina , he scored 2 against Bolivia, try dealing with facts, and not fantasy... Argentina were terrorized in a 4-3-2-1 with Nunez given a free role across the front line, Argentina first defeat at home in 50 Games, that was all about Nunez, so eat your words. Ask Messi how good he is, he raved about Nunez
