There are many videos giving voice to pain and suffering that goes with losing special people such as fathers, mothers, siblings, spouses, and so on but as anyone who has ever owned a pet knows losing them hurts too. I've loved this song since Linda Ronstadt first sung it. I've planned on using it at some family funeral through the years, but then when it got right down to it, I chickened out. The words are so moving. The sentiment is so sincere. I'd be a basket case, I am sure. But John sings it beautifully here. :).

I love this song so much, evrytime I hear it, I remember my good old dog, that I had to put asleep, when he was 16 years old.

Lost a dear friend & neighbor Chuck Foix & that was the 1st time I ever heard this and LOVED it. Bug nobody seemed to know the title or who sang it! Funeral Home only had it listed as "Goodbye" in their selection of music with no artist listed. Years & Years later I finally locate it just by chance. Great Song !!! :-)

This song hits me hard. A short time ago I lost my friend Larry. We served together in Vietnam, we have been friends since. Towards the end he had lunge cancer and was suffering a lot. It was a blessing when he went, he was so ill.

Not me bawling to this song thinking of my fur babies who crossed the rainbow bridge almost 5 years ago. Now. He was so vulnerable for sharing this pain with us. Such beautiful song though really.
