He’s the very best or at least in my thoughts he’s unequaled in technique and explosiveness. Only one other other drummer, in my opinion on was as impressive as him and that was Ginger Baker! Two totally different techniques but equally as perfect in their deliverance and contributions to rock and roll drumming as anybody ever has been. No other drummers have come close. But as always those are my opinions!!

@@mrskinszszs I can respect that, Bonham just did things on drums that can be replicated sure, but it just isn't quite the same as Bonham playing the same grooves and fills. He just played with so much fire and passion, such a great attack, but yet can play blues like a seasoned, blues drummer.

He was 20 or 21 at this point, but it's still absolutely incredible how someone that young was so bad ass. Just pure natural talent. He truly was the greatest Rock drummer in my opinion

Bonham was good, even great in some compositions but he wasn't the greatest. I rate him in the top ten of rock drummers. He had some special gifts that other drummers either didn't know or didn't use, such as the triplets on the bass drum, he exploited that. But other drummers had better gifts regarding double stroke applications around the kit and more rudimentary talents. This again doesn't mean they were any better as they had strengths where he didn't and vise-versa. To be honest, it's a matter of opinion, as to anyone being a goat. Too many variables to come to one conclusion, even for the great Buddy Rich
