Michigan fan here but always had the utmost respect for Kentucky basketball. Four years ago worst season in Kentucky history, next year worst loss in tournament as a #2 seed, next year most veteran team in a while don't make it to the sweet 16, this year another 1st round embarrassment with far better talent than the opposition. What's going on in Kentucky? This 🤡 should have been gone after the St. Peters loss.

ZIP YOUR DAMN MONTH CAL. Your team is full of talent and you have FOUR five star freshmen on this team (Edwards, Wagner, Bradshaw, and Dillingham) and a top 25 recruit in Sheppard. I’m a Louisville fan, but as someone who also sometimes roots for UK occasionally if they play teams I hate and picked them to go to the final four this year, words can’t describe how much you have pissed me off for YEARS with not taking accountability and just blaming others, especially your players. Mitch Barnhart is also doing NOTHING as the AD at UK, which he’s the MAIN person to blame as well, bc also, Mark Stoops is doing NOTHING for the football program as well

Love it when mid majors beat high majors. Many of these high major players are over rated by not gonna mention names but folks who rate them as 5 stars. They have been on super teams since middle school. Mid majors players are hungry and play as a team , they share the ball and win as a unit. High majors play iso ball and don’t know what to do if they do not score. Their egos have been checked. Humble yourselves and respect the game.

Cal has had by far THE MOST NBA Talent in college basketball history...Nobody has done less than with more talent than Cal in history!

If they fire Calipari…and they should…it would be nonsensical without a full scale cleaning of house at UK. Barnhart and his ridiculous contract is the core of the problem . Barnhart and Calipari both need to go. It will be painful-but anything short is scraping at a wound…while leaving the cancer.

The sad thing is, a large portion of our fanbase lives in fear of doing worse if we move on and try a different coach and philosophy. 😂

They were in foul trouble the entire second half, but instead of staying aggressive and attacking the rim/feeding the ball inside we just jack up a bunch of 3s and turned the ball over a bunch of times. Despite all this we end up having a chance under 2 minutes to either tie or take the lead, but instead of Cal calling a timeout we end up turning the ball over... We had 3 timeouts but didn't use them until it was already too late!! Why on earth would we not use those timeouts to try and settle down our guys and draw up some plays to get our guys a few easy buckets!? They had no answer for Tre Mitchell in the second half yet we didn't keep feeding him the ball to try and foul out their guys?? (also, as much as I love him, it was obvious that Reed Sheppard was really off tonight and there's just no way he should've been put back in the game for those last 4 or so minutes) Idk man, just such a devastating loss for a team that could've easily pulled out a win with a better game plan... I'm pretty down on Cal atm but I could live with him as long as we get somebody (or maybe two somebodies) to help out on the bench and in practice.

One of the Biggest problems is the turnover rate of players each year …. If only 2 or 3 guys left each year it’s easier to coach because you you let players develop and become better and a team that understands better how to do things in situation …. That’s why older Kentucky teams where good year after year … we become a NBA training camp and not a College basketball team … to much one on one plays every time down the floor … Defense needs to be a priority from day 1 each year not halfway to end of year.

I think the stage was too big for these young freshman team and Cal can’t coach. He always recruit top talent but can’t coach them up.

He’s run his once incredible legacy into the ground and turned a premier program into a mediocre AAU program with no real desire to hang banners in Rupp but rather supply the NBA with draft picks. I knew we was in trouble before this game go to KSR and watch his interview he told oaklands coach he’s gonna run his normal stuff well it’s easy to prepare for a team when you know what there going to run and do he won’t go to zone ever he won’t change his offensive schemes he just lets em run oh and then on that interview he says his guys stay in the gym blah blah blah and after this game he says a couple guys got fatigued early how’s that happen if there in the gym ? Especially against a mid major school he’s stubborn which annoys me the most with him ! I think he truly loves the kids and wants his teams to win but for gods sake man change up your schemes throw some curve balls out there stop letting anybody see your practices including your opponents you make it easy for a team to prepare for you to easy you need to learn pure talent and being in great condition does NOT always win on that alone! Fundamentals still matter game plans still matter. I’m not mad at the kids I’m irate that you let this happen constantly and lose the same ways every since the 1st Kansas state loss in the tournament coaches and teams have caught up to your stuff and know how to prepare for it ! Mix it up man please my gosh.

I was hoping he might take some responsibility for under-preparing his players or not setting the appropriate tone to prepare the guys mentally for the pressure but instead it’s all about mistakes “they” made, “them” not knowing what to do, or “them” being “too young” to handle the pressure. Maybe the players were anxious because they’d been out bowling and accompanying you on your little media appearances instead of preparing to win the next game.

NOT prepared for this slower tempo, zone defense team. On the coach and his staff. Should never have been that close where we "have our chances." Poor game plan against inferior competition, and if there were an analytic for mental preparedness, we would have failed miserably. No defensive adjustments in game--what else is new? Yes, Antonio was a better defender on their guy who could have made shots blindfolded, but it was the rebounding and scoring in the paint that was really hurtful. Continuous defensive errors made the entire game that kept them in it and confident they could win. We have plenty of negative trending data...once again, he proves he is not a good in-game coach and forf whatever other reasons, he's not winning enough at Kentucky. He should step aside.

At the end of the day like others have said, you are the coach, and the end result is on you. Stop recruiting one-and-done players and build a roster that can compete. You have 3 7 footers and none of them played with their backs to the basket. Which could lead to inside-out offense. You won't press other teams or play any type of zone. I have watched you get out-coached now for years. You won't change your style, and you start players that should be on the bench. You had 33 games to figure this out and YOU failed, not the players. Everyone knows what you will run, and you run it into the ground. That's why you get out-coached and your players get outplayed. I won't forget your early years in Kentucky, but you need to go. You are a broken record.
