John Carpenter talks about "The Curse of Frankenstein" (1957) directed by Terence Fisher. Unfortunately it is not the best picture quality.

I just love the fact that two of my all time favorite directors are fans of my favorite Frankenstein film. Him and Burton have stated to be fans of this and I think that is awesome

Fascinating - as, in my experience, the sort of people who are Carpenter fans are often the quickest to make dismissive comments about Hammer films. Maybe this might help shift a few attitudes.

I recently just found a love for Hammer films starting with “curse of the werewolf” ! Amazing acting, storytelling, cinematography, etc; Hammer films are excellent.

"Hammer films" Curse Of Frankenstein is the greatest Hammer horror film. So praising it is one thing and praising Vampire Circus or something is another.

Big Carpenter fan here (who’s all time favorite movie is “The Thing”). And never dismissed nor disliked Hammer films, in fact, I like the first movies of Dracula, the Mummy, and Frankenstein.
