Vicodyn you don’t know a real Boston accent if you only heard him saying it for those two words. Any Bostonian will tell you from his dialect to the cadence in his voice it sounds very Boston.

Vicodyn the one thing I also said was it sounded very heavy but not forced. I’ve heard other accents from Boston natives that go way too over the top with the Typical words ppl with Boston accents are copied for saying like Caah and paahked. With Cenas older brother it just flowed more naturally but subtle enough to not seem too over the top and forced.

I remember in the earliest years of his wrestling career he did have a little Boston accent but as time passes now he just sounds like a regular well spoken and articulate human being and that’s cool.

If someone told me they’re from a city because their actual hometown is a little less than an hour from that major city then I’d say it’s pretty accurate to say they’re from that city. In here we’re talking about accents which can be shared regionally by locals.

@Dan I'm not sure if you mean specifics as in what exercises they did or how hard did they train. I can only really address the latter to say, John trained very hard. For everything he's accomplished in life, so too has he earned every scrap of accolade of it in terms of the effort he puts forth. My brother now owns the gym, Hard Nocks, since the founder/owner passed away in 2017, RIP Dave Nock. Dave was a man that John himself coined as the toughest SOB alive. He wasn't exaggerating. Dave would put you through workouts that you'd never have guessed you could do, but he knew you could. That, however, wasn't what made Dave tough. What made him tough is that, for as hard of a workout as he'd put you through, he would put himself through workouts equally as difficult and beyond. The man had no quit in him whatsoever. That's why everyone who knew him loved and respected him. He was a no bullshit type of guy, former Police Officer himself, but also the funnest, most crazy kind of friend you could ever have. I loved the man and knew him for about 40 years having been a member of Hard Nocks since I graduated High School in 1981. Needless to say I am still a member and will be until the day I die. So, to answer your question - John and his brother trained extremely intensely which is why they became the men they are today. Newbury is only 10-15 minutes up the road from where we are, so they are virtual neighbors to us.
