"When you hurt them, you know you hurt them.....I can see it in a mans face.." says young pro John Cooney as he muses on the tough fights he has had on the road with Slater Sports consultancy.
Just like the rest of the O'Rourkes gym stable, Cooney has no intention of resting on his laurels and plans to go 4-0 in his professional boxing career that has been fought entirely in the pandemic with plans to double that tally before the year is out. John talks about his professional approach to the fight game and explains how the jorneyman experience differs in Spain with fights almost always tough and competitive which adds considerably to his skillset, far more than with a typical blue corner he would have faced at home in Ireland.
