Just a quick walkaround video on this rainy Sunday, comparing the features of two iconic flagship models of garden tractors - the John Deere 318, and the Cub Cadet 782 - this one is a custom-built "318 Wannabe" which I upgraded to include all of the same creature comforts as a 318. This tractor was built using all Cub Cadet OEM parts except for the Onan P218G engine itself, which came out of another JD 318. The build included a CV-style driveshaft, dual hydraulics with front outlets, power steering, dual individual rear wheel brakes, and category-0 three-point hitch, to make the 782 as similar as possible to a 318. This, in my opinion, is how the 782 (and the models that replaced it - 1711/12 and 1811/12) should have all been equipped from the factory. Most of these features were only available on the Super Cub Cadet models such as the 982, 1872, and 2072; some features like power steering did not come factory on a standard-frame 82 series until the first Cyclops 1862 model came out in 1990.
