Great tip on looking inside the housing of the glow plug controller/relay, mine was intermittently working on my JD 855. Found that the soldered connection was cracked to one of the terminals, resoldered and good to go. Thanks!

Thanks so much for sharing this! My 755 does not start well, and not at all below 10C (50F). Bought glow plugs a while ago, and was pleased to see where they go, how to get to them, and welcomed the info on the controller which I will also look at.

Awesome, I bought a '97 JD770 in '98 with 50hrs on it from the dealer. Great to know when I start having problems with the glow plugs. I have the last generation model but basically the same. Haven't had any issues in that time. I think I replaced one of the bucket curl cylinder seals years ago which i probably helped with when I was clearing a bunch of brush.. When we ever do get a large amount of snow I usually keep our development roads plowed with my bucket. Not enough snow for anything else other wise it sits for the winter.

I have a 96 870 and I rarely need glow plugs on it. Below zero it helps but otherwise I'm amazed at how easily it starts in the cold.

That's something I have thought about, sure would be nice when blowing snow! Could never figure out a simple door solution! Thanks for watching!

Just replaced the glow plug in one of my 755. 40 dollars each from John Deere. Was afraid to use the aftermarket. Gave you a sub from Upstate New York. Where are you located ? Your place looks beautiful

Trying to get in contact with you, I have a JD 755. Recently using your videos for glowplug troubleshooting and cold weather starting here in northern New Hampshire. Just want to know what front plug you used for your block heater. And maybe part number if you have it!

Sorry, misunderstood your question. I didn't work on block heater just glow plugs. John Deere part number for block heater cord is ARB7168 or for cord and heater kit is ARB7167. Hope this helps.
