The 7810 caught on fire 2 hours after I got done feeding with it. The fire started up in the roof of the cab most likely a electrical fire

Good thing it was out in the open!! As for fixing, you might be surprised... It's probably much better than you think, still lots of paint!!! We picked up a burned 4010 for the transmission, it went through a shop fire. Everything was melted off the engine, half the paint was burnt off the transmission, tires were gone... Swamped the tranny for the seized one we had, cleaned it up, fresh paint.. that's been probably 15 years ago. No issues!! Runs every day feeding big bales😎

Glad too see none of your family got hurt. Fighting fires can be dangerous. The plastic from the bunker cover could have been a major issue also. Good job containing it.

Our lawnmower caught fire by our sawdust bay a month ago. We could’ve lost the barn if we hadn’t been around. You’re right, it’s not a pleasant site when equipment and buildings are on fire. It goes quick when fuel and plastic are involved.

Sorry to hear that happened. I always fear equipment fires with my own stuff. I have been to many machinery fires as a career firefighter and it was a good thing it was parked where it was. I have thought about putting master disconnect switches on everything I own for that reason but have not yet. This has me re-thinking about putting them on now. Glad no one got injured or any loss of buildings occurred.

Sorry to hear about that... but on the bright side it would be a great time to get a truck mixer you'll love it
@oby-16075 жыл бұрын
Fire is a both a loss of what you own but also a test of our inner strength. Most industrial equipment have a master shutoff that disconnect the batteries when you exit the machine for the day. When you start the next shift of work, you then turn it on. Its a bit of a pain and the clock and the radio presets disappear but is another form of insurance against fire happening. Time and vibration are the cause of this as your tractor had high hours. Good luck in its replacement and stay safe out there.

I am so glad everyone is ok. When I was a teenager some good Samaritan threw a lit cigarette into the 2nd floor of the hay barn along the road. For whatever reason the night before I backed in the tractor and honey wagon into the barn. I was able to get both out of the barn during the fire. Probably 10 minutes after I moved the equipment the 2nd floor collapsed with all of the burning hay. You could not get within 500 feet of the barn as it burned. It burned for days. People just dont know how devastating a farm fire is. Physically, emotionally and financially. Stay safe. PS - did you ever do anything with the 7810's engine?

Glad no one got hurt, that's the main thing. Just another reason why I don't like the new stuff of today, too much plastic. Once a fire starts, it's very difficult to put out. The crappy part is, now you're out of both a tractor and a mixer while you wait on insurance. Sad thing is, a "clean-up" like this, all those that have to get involved, seem to take their bloody time at doing so then you're still left holding the bag at the end of the day. I hope the insurance company doesn't drag their feet like they're prone to do. Hopefully, you'll get new replacements rather quickly without too much cost out of pocket.
@JonDingle5 жыл бұрын
Sorry to hear that news young man. However, on the bright side nobody was injured, no livestock was injured and no other losses apart from the mixer. I suspect the outer casing of the live feed to the radio wore through over time and went straight to earth causing the short circuit and fire. The JD 7810 is or this case was an awesome tractor and it is a shame to see it like this. It may be an idea to check the condition of wiring to radios in your other tractors? Stay safe young man.

Quite shocking to see the first photo you showed on youtube. I'm glad you managed to talk about it in this video, can't be easy. I agree with the others here, good no people got hurt trying to do what could be done. One of the farms I used to help out at had a barn fire and I think all cows got killed and everything else within the barn. I was really sad at that moment and my mom couldn't realize how it felt, even it wasn't my family's farm. Fire is so destructive and worth having the most respect for. Hoping something good will come out of this and that you'll recover and go on. Your channel is one of the very best out there.
