This is a JD doing what I'd call a real power drift . Another example of a JD8430 breaking in hill country . In NZ we only get better at what we do. If aint JD it ain't worth owning . Nothing Runs like a Deere . Purchase all your JD products from Agriquip and AgrowQuip(Gold Star Certified John Deere Dealers). You are 100 percent right. A tractor working up and down is Hell on the entire power train and non fuel efficient not to mention erosion. Even the ancients knew to work animals and plant horizontal.

good video but most of new zealand was broken in with crawlers and 2 wheel drive tractors and there was a lot more steeper stuff done than that. i remember sitting on the side of an arm rest on a btd6 cause it was to steep to sit on seat. we had to over fill sumps to keep oil pressure up. good old days.

What a fascinating video, tractor rides ... for three minutes tractor rides ... While watching this video my heart rate dropped to 30 per minute! Perfectly calm, I would recommend instead of tablets. Greetings to all peaceful people! :)

Can't speak for other parts of the world but we go across hillsides rather than up and down to ease erosion and nutrient leaching the soils here in central New York. It also seems easier on the equipment to go across hills, less power pulling up and less running away going down, just my opinion and our experiences.

I think you would find by trying to power harrow back up hill the tractor will loose traction in turn start bunny hopping and nose diving(pig rooting) properly by then you'd have a big hole dug behind the tractor and when the tractor is backed away go sideways and the rest could be history.

Is this filmed on the southern Island? I was 4 months in Blenheim, nice country! I've been all around the country. But when I'm driving tractor, I like our "flat" fields in Holland better... hehe. I think I was shitting my paints when I had to do this job haha

Anybody who has done any type of tractor work on slopes knows you always start at the bottom and work your way up, so as not to keep pushing all your soil down the hill.

Very much reminds me of watching aircraft land in a heavy cross wind . Has no one made a mobile weight box to aid this process, like the units used on fork lift trucks to move the forks side to side, to make sure the words ' made in America ' that are printed on the underside are not seen when the whole shooting match rolls over ! ! !

Land that hilly shouldn't be broken. Run cattle or sheep on it and prevent erosion. No reason to farm land that is that marginal.

@69camarojunkie Hmm lets see. More tire to the grond means less weight per square inch. Maybe then you get more traction. Not that i am experienced but that was my first suggestion too. At least a dually pickup sucks in winter because there isnt enough weight on the grond.

In NZ we only get the very basic spec low HP Belarus. We don't see their flagship models. If we did then maybe their reputation would improve.

I didn't know that Belarus is gone in Denmark...But in Serbia that's the best tractor,now my country began to produce them,other tractor's like JD,NH,CASE,CLASS is to expensive...

It is better a Claas Axxion 4000 tractor that has 4 wheel drive and steering, which can walk in crab to coimpense the slope while staying in line. Or a JCB.

Belarus? Here in Denmark we've never seen them, for some years ago farmers in Denmark thought it was smart to buy these cheap tractors, such as Zetor, Ursus and belarus, well, it wasn't a good idea thought, in very few years they were all gone! Now we see John deere, Case IH, Massey ferguson and newhollands around. You better not try to live in the past.
