Welcome to the first episode of ZK MasterTech shot in 4K. In this video, I tackle a DEF tank level issue and fix a noisy cab fan. These new 8R cabs have the HVAC system behind the seat instead of in the roof. We are going to tear into it for the first time together!

Seems to be a common problem with this particular component . At least the DEF headers you've replaced were not severely encased by the tractor . Mike Mitchell had to replace one on a brand new Fendt 1167 , it was over 4ft long and a nightmare to get to ! Keep up the good work .

Thanks for another great video ZK. It was interesting and enjoyable. Good job on the problems this 370 had. Appreciate the way you approach these issues and figure what the root of the issue is. The DEF tank problem was straight forward but was surprised at what came apart to get to the tank unit. Once apart you had it done in no time. Was interesting. Just feel this DEF stuff is so unneeded. Understand the theory behind it but just so unneeded and makes work for all of you. The fan motor was interesting. I would have struggled figuring out how to get to it without taking more loose than I needed too. You knew right away how to get at it for the fix. Nice work. Learned that one. Like your approach to the final thoughts on the codes. Like your words where you you said is senseless to throw parts at it and tear the cab apart. Never knew throwing parts at a problem worked very well. Like your approach ZK. Again a real good video and lots of teaching and instruction on fixing the issues. You take care and be safe. Looking forward to the next video. Thanks for everything. The Iowa farm boy Steve.

Very poor that the whole header has to be replaced, I suppose it's another way to get money out of the owner. I don't remember the DEF ( or AdBlue as it's known in the UK) having any odour to it. Another excellent video Zeth.

Hi Zeth, excellent video as usual and loving the new camera quality. Over the months of watching all your videos one of the things that strikes me as one of your many qualities is your ability to remain calm and so focused on your tasks. I also feel that you are like this in all aspects of your life, so one question! What is your secret to the outstanding attitude you have towards your work and life in general? When I was younger I was a real hot head getting annoyed at the slightest thing (not so bad now I am old and retired). Thanks for all you do from a very sunny Scotland today.

You just don’t see the moments when I throw a wrench and cuss! Lol When it comes to wrenching on equipment, you’ve got to be patient. Getting mad or upset makes you lose focus and just takes you longer. I just take a step back, think about it for a minute, and keep moving forward. If you do see me throw a wrench, you might want to run lol. When I work on equipment, I treat it like it was my own and I’m very particular.

Enjoy your videos. Its a little concerning that many of the tractors you work on seem very new. Perhaps they're high hours? It seems a little overkill to have to replace that whole assembly for the DEF fault, they should really just make the sensors.

You seem like a guy who appreciates a damn good and loud jam session. Do you happen to know what Deere changed on these new cabs as far as stereo components? I have an 8R and 8RT signature edition and the sound quality in them is terrible compared to the previous gen 8Rs. Both sound quality and volume. A guy could properly rock out in the older models. These new ones even on 30 do nothing for me. Did they change speakers or something else. This new cab as a whole is a pretty big let down. No storage, and cheap plastic everywhere. Not to mention the cheap feeling doors that remind me of the red tractors i used to run.

@@ZKMasterTech hop in them back to back. Both mine have the sub, all my older ones do also, but the older ones hit so much harder, and are way louder. Like make your ears bleed in a good way loud. Please help I have another 5100e and thought I’ll just swap tanks so I removed it but when I went to throw it on the other 5100e the electrical connections are not The same ? Maybe cause it’s a couple years older ? Any way my question is once I replace the head do I need to program anything or is it just plug and play ? By replacing the head will this fix issue ? I also have replaced both the vent filter and the def filter under tractor ! What’s crazy is it will work fine for hours then it just non stop acts up !
