This is exactly the video I was hoping for!!! My only question is how deep did they bore out the pan?

I'm in the same boat with an MX6. I dont know why it took me so long to find your video! Its awesome and a great help. Do you mind me asking how much the gear box was when you bought it? They are around $900 now. Have you noticed a difference in cut quality with the lower geared box? (Slower blade tip speed). They now sell china made replacement boxes with the correct gear ratio and no grinding or welding required for around 1200, would still require the stump jumper to be machined. Would you have gone that route if it was available? Happy holidays!

I'm sorry for not getting back to you sooner. As far as the cut quality, It's not a finish mower, but it comes pretty damn close. I would do this again, having the proper tools and the correct machine shop lined up to make the stump jumper modification. I will attach a link above and right here so you can view if it is finally running on the tractor. I don't believe the gear ratio makes a difference when in use; it spins plenty fast enough to destroy what's in front of it. I belive I paid close to 800 when I bought mine. The land pride/comer replacement is a tank, but all in between the gear box/machine shop and the new PTO shaft. I'm at 1400. It's an expensive repair, but I doubt this one will break.

Do you know of a solution for John Deere 616 Rotary mower, with a broken Comer gear case - ST527066.
