Step by Step video showing what I did to rebuild the seat for our John Deere 3010. I forgot to show the picture showing us using the door hinge to get the last E-clip on so I apologize.

I really should do this on my 3020, it bottoms out bouncing on rough ground when I plow. I thought it was because I gained weight 😂 Nice informative tutorial sir!

I had a guy tell me it was "just the way they are". I thought no way. There is no way they could be that uncomfortable. Glad I did it and looked into though it is crazy expensive just to rebuild these seats yourself. I saw a guy on Facebook that rebuilds and paints them for something like $550. Not a bad deal considering that includes a paint job and labor. The only other problem is shipping cost. Thanks for watching.

Hi Daniel, great video! I’m doing this on my 4020 now my frame is worn a similar amount where bushings live. Did JB welding the bushings in hold?

To be honest, our 3010 doesn't get too much use, so it hasn't had too many hours on it since I rebuilt the seat, but so far no issues.

What did you buy for this repair when I looked on eBay the kit comes with a lot of stuff that you reused but did not have the shock absorber, I saw it sold by itself! Nice tutorial on this my 3020 has the same problem, seat has one position and you wind up touching steering wheel all day

I used most of the kit. I thought to myself afterward whether I would buy piece-meal or the kit again. I think I would still do the kit. Then I wouldn't get halfway in and realize I didn't have a part or something dumb. And yes, the shock absorber is separate and quite expensive. Good luck with your rebuild.

I don't know if the turkeys would be happy if we repaired the seat on our 2510. They usually call back when I squeak down the field.

I literally laughed out loud at your comment. Thanks for that.

Where is the cable attached?

One end gets pinned near the spring. You can see the old one pinned around 8:08. The other end goes to the hook shown at 28:22. Let me know if that doesn't answer your question.
