Man! I love that sound!! I grew up on a two cylinder John Deere and that love has never left me. My Dad had a JD dealership and was a farmer along with his brother and father,and I learned this before I knew how to ride a bicycle!!

720 JD pulling 4 bottoms at 5:30 had his hands full! Love to see power and torque challenged. . . . Thanks for posting this interesting video!!! S. Carolina

@@dougwinders6973 Low revving, not a lot of HP but massive torque from poppin jonnies.

That's 620 with three bottoms at 1. 02. That's a well-balanced tractor on a nice pulling plow.

those 2 cylinders were the life of our farm in the 60s; we had an A a B and a 730 diesel; many hours to cutting and raking hay and farming

Two thumbs up, great video!

A lot of these have too much plow hooked to them. Just because they will pull the plow here doesn't mean that is the correct size plow for the poor tractor trying to pull them. Show some respect. These pieces of American History deserve more than this!!! I wish they could talk to you. Well they are talking to you in their language, you just aren't listening!! Nice video!! THANKS

All amazing super tough tractors, in real hard pulling soil, really noticed that 720 tricycle pulling 4 furrow drag plow,bloody impressive

Brings back memories.....when Dad or I were plowing the robins would be walking along in the furrow, looking for worms! Ha! Pretty smart birds! The smell of the earth was wonderful!!! What are all those meatballs in golf carts doing? This is a participant sport, not a spectator sport!

This John Deere at 3:29 looks like the model I was photographed sitting on in 1948 (very young at the time) and been mad about tractors ever since.

In all these shows and demonstrations, although not a great video of it, is a John Deere #60. You seldom see one doing any work, any that I've seen are static. As a youngster, I spent a lot of time plowing and cutting sorghum on a JD #60. I guess it was one of the first tractors to have power steering..

Grew up on small family farm using John Deere power Beginning with an H purchased in 1941 or 1942 followed By a B model, a little later two M's were baught, some Time later two A's were acquired along with a small Diesel tractor, in this time frame 4 crawlers(bulldozers) We're put to work. Only three of these tractors were used When purchased

I guess I'll never under stand why Farmers need to put chrome straight pipes on the Two-cylinders, I like to sleep at night with-out a ringing in my ears. The 720 Diesel sounds just right to me! So does the 70 Diesel! We plow our 150 acres every year with Two-cylinder tractors with mufflers on all of them.

jefffirefighter12106, I prefer the stock muffler, I think they sound better that way.
@SteelyPaw6 жыл бұрын
The standard exhaust as I remember it was just just a padded pipe sticking straight up thru the hood...
@popsmurf16 жыл бұрын
I completely agree. My Dad had a '52 G that had been seriously modified by the previous owner (put out 65 hp on the dynamometer). You couldn't run that one with a straight pipe.
@westtennesseefarming2886 жыл бұрын
Its not too bad unless your in a structure or under one I personally like to see mine shoot the blue flames at night.
@satchelh6 жыл бұрын
A straight piped 720 or 70 is one thing, but how would you like to listen to that Detroit at 10:45 all day? Sounds cool at a show but obnoxious in real work.

That’s music coming out of that model R I would take that R over any modern tractor today that’s for sure! and I would rather plow 50 acres with that R over any modern tractor today!

Sure ain't plowing very deep. Probably can't do it.
