Awesome. Just watching the '68 Hollywood Bowl show on Amazon right now, and got to wondering if Densmore was still alive! I knew Krieger was, but I couldn't recall if he was the last man standing! What a pair of legends. Twenty years ago, or a wee bit more, The Doors changed my life. CIA "social-engineering" band or not..... I know people decry it for their own reasons, but "Waiting for the Sun" started my education in proper musicianship.

@joaquindelarosa1215
@joaquindelarosa1215 Жыл бұрын
If they were part of the social engineering, I am sure the doors were completely unaware they were being used for that purpose. Nevertheless, a lot if good in my life has come about as a result of being a big doors fan. Including "questioning all authority." Sometimes, especially with something as subjective as art, social engineering can backfire on the secret puppet masters.

I love The Doors and their music. I'm a generation X and The Doors music was and is a part of the soundtrack to my life along with The Beatles, The Stones, Dylan, Jefferson Airpalane, Buffalo Springfield, Canned Heat! etc. etc. so much good music back then. Early 90's were pretty good for rock n roll too: Nirvana, Stone Temple Pilots, The Black Crowes, Pearl Jam, Alice In Chains, Beck, Soundgarden, et. al. I love the music from the 60's era especially '65-70'...🎵👉✌️. I play drums myself and have been in and out of bands since I was 15. I can sing somewhat. I've sang Doors, Sinatra, and Dylan at karaoke before. good times!

It's a shame what happened to the relationship between these guys after Morrison died, I feel that the crux of it all was when the Morrison/ Courson family got ownership of Jim's side of the business. I mean, I can understand Jim's family getting something but come on The Coursons?? Then Densmore went to them when he wanted a tour ( which he was invited to join and initially gave his blessing), in order that they put a stop to the name being used. Later on even the drummer from The Police sued Ray and Robbie for earnings lost after he had an accident, absolutely disgraceful behaviour. I was introduced to the Doors through the movie and ok, after then going back to the real Doors and looking at them, I realise the movie may be exaggerated , however, how are new generations supposed to hear old bands if there isn't some kind of exploitation .......and is it even exploitation ??, I think these guys have been rich and famous for so long they forget that working in Tesco full-time is massive exploitation , not selling a few more albums because you let an advert use your music..........
