I’m glad Force is ok. That man is 73 years old. I’m convinced Force will give us one of the saddest days in history one day. No one hopes I’m wrong more than me.

To know John is about 74 and can still crawl in and out of these cars is amazing. Couldn't imagine another guy doing the same thing

The chutes tangling up might have saved both of them, from what I see.

A lot of accidents this weekend. I'm really hoping that nobody gets hurt. Thank you NHRA for your commitment to the safety measures you take to keep these drivers safe. Some scary looking accidents and more than usual it seems.

Should have let off when he was behind and out of shape as well as pulling the chutes a little earlier

I think that when John's parachute hooked on jr's car helped out John hitting the wall. Slowed him down quite a bit. Glad everyone is ok.

John would be the first to tell you he stayed in it too long. His car wasn't running well at all the entire weekend. Needed to make the show. He doesn't need to retire. He needs Dan to find a tune sooner than later.

The old man was covered with scratches and scars he got some at the drag strip and others in bars the rest he got working on that dammed old car in the pit area. Told all the fans that he could beat them boys he’s still got it and he’s good for the sport and he’s proud. He’s gonna keep digging going as fast as he can making sure there will always be a place for this old man at at the end of the drag strip with the win light on cause we’ll only have memories on the day he’s gone for good… Drive it Big John!

That was super lucky for both, good to see them both walk away from that. If that collision would've happened earlier, before the chutes came out, it could've been much worse.

The parachutes wrapping around the DHL car probably saved John's life by slowing his momentum towards the wall!🙃

I think John should consider NASCAR. Great pass on the outside. If it he didn't have those parachutes it would have been clean! Although he probably would be confused with the same start and finish line.

Force's car was leaking fuel like crazy while coming to a stop. Very lucky it didn't ignite.

You know JR was confused as hell. Driving left lane but gets passed on his left and then you are tangled up in parachute lines, which who knows if he knew that at the time, so his steering input was making no sense. Poor JR was just along for the ride LOL.

We were there to see this and it was insane. But, so glad to see everyone walk away

Watched some other races from yesterday. Johns not the only car to go from the right lane to the left and others got loose in that lane

The older you get, the slower your reaction time, especially at these speeds,John had time to get off the throttle, but reacted too late,John should consider retirement before something really bad happens.

When straight line drag cars get out of shape at over 250MPH the driver is no longer in control he/she is just a passenger. Safety equipment and luck keeps you safe.

At those speeds, if something goes wrong, it's almost impossible to control that car. These cars are designed to go straight, not side to side. This could have been so much worst than it was

I'm glad John's ok. He's a legend, but I don't really understand his driving in this situation. I feel bad for JR he ended up blowing the body off on Sunday. I wonder what the weak link was for him? Anyways I feel horrible for him. That's definitely not how you want to start off a season.
