Sure, Aphex Twin is one of his major influences (talking about his electronic music ofc). Frusciante likes Aphex Twin very much, he said so.

Crazy how the Universe works. John could've died during the 90s. He is such an inspiration. Richard is sort of a God to some of us. John is equally as important esp when he's jamming on the axe.

im still kinda sad his solo career went the direction it did, he's got epic songs, but i guess he's been quoted saying he's grown bored with verse chorus verse, guitar driven, confined to principle rock music, likes to experiment and push the boundaries of sound, thats great.. but i think he kinda got self absorbed to the point of making really masturbatory, frantic, compressed digital music that seems like it lacks his emotion and touch like it used to have, say.. every album up until enclosure, that was a real nice blend of electronic music and his famous guitar work, i've kinda stopped paying attention after that, with all the trickfinger shit and w/e

@@chrisjennings5143 i know what you mean but i know what he means too. i can't blame him one bit, music is something that pours out of you and if it's electronic stuff coming out of his heart that's just how it is. i love this track luckily, hope the rest of the album is as easily understood.

This is one of the best electronic pieces from John I've really heard. It's so well crafted and produced, I love the jungle rhythm break, the emotional melody in the beginning. The way the track really starts to groove in the outro with the acid lines. Gives me a glimpse back into the past years of his electronic music and releases. Reminds me a bit of the PBX days.

I’ve only recently developed an appreciation for electronic music. I used to be one of those annoying “if it was made with a computer it’s not real music” type people. But maturing in the creative aspect, I’ve come to love, enjoy, and appreciate it as an art. This was fantastic, it was so unique and interesting. Hope to hear more soon!!!

Electronic music is some of the most varied and limitless music you can find! One of the beauties of electronic music is that you aren't bound to the physical barriers of dexterity and ergonomics, which is often a limitation with traditional instruments. It can be everything from 8-bit chiptune to incredibly organic, and is only limited by your experience with the tools and your imagination. :)

@Bryce Thibodeaux I understand what you're saying, and agree to your larger point (I play piano, guitar, and sing), but it's also possible to make electronic music and retain that human element. MIDI keyboards and the like allow for the same kind of human performance and expression if that's the goal, instead of looping and quantizing everything to death. Electronic elements and production can either be the whole thing, or just an ingredient in the overall pie. I'm a fan of hybrid styles that mix a bit of both.
@tash5540
@tash5540 3 жыл бұрын
@Bryce Thibodeaux Listen to Skrillex's early work. Rock n roll, scary monsters and nice sprites, etc. I think you'll hear possibilities. I had a simular mentality and ignorance to computer music, mainly because I felt if it couldnt be performed live, it wasn't a worthwhile career option. In my opinion edm will be the new format of rock, just excluding instruments.
