Stefan Pape from HeyUGuys interviews actor John Hurt at the Critics Circle Awards in London about his new movie Shadowpiecer. Hurt is very vocal in his views on what Producing powerhouse Harvey Weinstein should do with the cut of his movie Snowpiercer which he stars in opposite Tilda Swinton.
Harvey Weinstein wants to cut 20 minutes from the movie and Hurt claims to know which those 20 minutes will be and is not happy about it.

Sir John once said that Bong Joon Ho is very much like Hitchcock in his style. I’ve noticed Easter eggs paying homage to Hitchcock in Parasite. There was literally a Hitchcock biography book in the shelf. Sir John knew Bong had his talent as a director and he would have loved to see him shine

John was an absolute treasure and the world has been poorer since his passing. Also, props to the interviewer for asking some thoughtful and respectful questions - an actor slating a studio like this is a bit of a scoop and he didn’t make it trashy, just gave Hurt his say. Respect.

Yeah, now that you mention it, the most impressive thing - AFTER John Hurt slating Weinstein and defending the film so honestly yet politely - is that the interviewer did such a good job of letting Hurt do that without going full tabloid OR just trying to play it off and avoid the danger of "someone criticised Harvey Weinstein in 2014". Both interviewer and interviewed did a great job.

I met John in a hotel bar. He was very charming - even when somebody rudely interrupted him to introduce themselves and tell him they'd written him a part in their short film. John tried to very politely decline, by saying he's nowhere near handsome enough to play that historical figure. The aspiring filmmaker didn't give up though. Hurt politely held his ground but never got ratty with the guy, even though IMO he'd have been well within his rights to.

Ollivander being a frail man with a clean face, Dumbledore being more stately and with a thick flowing beard and half-moon spectacles and a hat and all.
