+manny may Was this moment real? Sure. But folks, he is no moderate and he really doesn't give a crap for anyone who doesn't agree with him. He can say anything he wants publicly because the Ohio House is locked down with Republicans. Good-Cop Bad-Cop politics in Ohio. He can come across as caring but he knows the politics are going to be ultra conservative. See the signing of bill to defund Planned Parenthood......and attack on unions a-la Scott Walker. If he comes across as a moderate it's only to get money....See....severance taxes on gas companies and expanded Medicaid in OH. He's about the money no matter who has the idea. And don't forget, this is the guy who called a cop a "jackass" for stopping him. Don't be fooled, Kasich became governor in a Republican election cycle. A monkey could have been elected for gov at the time. He would not be a moderate president.

+John Thomas Ah now, that's a bit harsh. Of all the candidates in the race Kasich is the one man who can really unite America with his good bi-partisan track record, no other candidate on either side can do it.

+John Thomas He has to appear warm hearted and I know some of what he says is an act, but deep down he really is a good man, and no he ain't a moderate by no means but he pretty close to what Romney was and he was a RINO( I HATE HOW THIS TERM IS USED). But truth is Kasich is far to gruff to win any voters so he needs this approach, and for unions he's actually come full circle and isn't even close to what Scott Walker is(Scott Walker is a scumbag). Although for Planned Parenthood; I mean if your pro-choice you hate him but if pro-life he's probably your hero. And the "cop incident" fully exemplifies his gruffness, and I mean who wouldn't be mad just in general after getting a ticket..

Not really a Kasich supporter BUT a fellow Christian conservative. And yes, he IS a classical, Burkean conservative folks, which is not always a strict Constitutional or reactionary conservative, which is not necessarily THE only way either; guess what, the Founders got a LOT of stuff wrong folks. Love this man. I met him when I was a teen and he is a nice, genuine guy (even for a politician). SDG

Very touching and genuine moment in a primary season filled with bluster, bitterness, and vulgarity. John Kasich is the adult among the candidates, and I just hope Americans would take notice of his accomplishment, compassion, and steadfastness. He represents the real American values that we long our leaders would possess.

I like this guy cause he is not onething or another, like he is conservative on some issues like he is pro-life but he is also not a prejudice bigot like most of the GOP. He is just cool, transparent and even though I am fiscally not conservative either and I am for gun control, he is at least more reasonable than most of the GOP. As a liberal, I like him more than Hillary but not more than Sanders.

John Thomas So what was his greatest moment then? Tell me.
@johnthomas16898 жыл бұрын
His greatest moment? As a presidential candidate? I don't know...probably this one. As a governor of Ohio its hard to say. He would claim credit for economic turn-around but there is no evidence any of his policies did more than general recovery did across the country. Ohio benefits from having a diverse economy and that has nothing to do with any governor. Kasich and a guy named Mark Kvamme created a way to funnel state money to their cronies by setting up an outfit called JobsOhio. JobsOhio gets Ohio's liquor tax money and literally gives it to political donors and cronies in the form of "salaries" and/or business loans to so-called "job creators". The results of JobsOhio are mixed at best and is an excellent example that really, there is no such thing as a "job creator". Expansion of Medicaid and a committment to fighting drug addiction are probably his most impactful things in Ohio. His greatest moments, as you say.
@TheNewRiflemanBob8 жыл бұрын
John Thomas First you disagree with me that this was his greatest moment and then when I question you, you agree with me. Wow. You also say that he can't take responsibility for Ohio because of outside factors. Well that's exactly what Obama says as to why you can't blame him for ruining the country and the world. It's clear that your a biased person. I don't know who you support but you're definitely biased haha.
@johnthomas16898 жыл бұрын
I never disagreed with you. I'm sorry if that's how you took it. I had copied my comment from another. No need to get testy, all politicians make false claims...that's how they feed us the crap they dish up. I disagree that any one politician has ruined the country and the world. It seems you just want to pick a fight with me. Sorry, I'm not going there. Cheers!

Someone, please help me here. I want to understand why John Kasich can seem so thoroughly decent, but support/enact some policies that are not? If he really believes it's all for the good, and not because of special interest involvement in politics, I guess I could probably buy that. All I know is that I really like him.
@devinharper8238 жыл бұрын
“We don’t have enough people who sit down and cry with that young man,” Kasich then told the crowd of 300. “As Americans, let’s renew our spirit. Let’s care about one another and not be disconnected. And together we will rise this country from a position of where we doubt to a position again, being Americans, where we are so confident of the future.” Contrast that with the rhetoric dominating the airwaves.
