He was drunk one night and got Cynthia pregnant. Unfortunately not everyone we f*ck as young individuals do we love. He still married her and tried,because of his own childhood without his birth father. But he did not love her. I think he resented julian as a result. The Beatles just began his long journey of creativity in writing and singing and at 22 thats alot. How can u blame him for not loving her?? When he met Yoko he found that love. Who would not go to it? Cynthia kept Julian from john out of jealousy. She is portrayed as the victim and it is not accurate. She made herself the victim by trapping a young man in a situation to hold on to him in actuality thats why he left. Just because you have sex and create a life doesn't mean you owe them anything or your life. It was an act that took minutes and makes people judge him to this day. See how ridiculous that is? Imagine if you had to remain with your 1st sexual partner...lol id rather die.
@evesapple
@evesapple 4 жыл бұрын
Why do you think that John was drunk, that it was a one night stand, or that Cynthia was his 1st partner? Also- he asked he to marry him, there wasnt pressure- he could have used his Aunt Mimis objection to it if he really didnt want to do it. Just...its plainly disrespectful to Cynthia. Not even sure how anyone could claim otherwise.

Had a wife and son =/= being in love. He knocked someone up, thought he would live up to the responsibility and immediately regretted it. He had never had a serious girlfriend before and now he was saddled with a wife he didn't love. He tried to hide the fact that he was married from the public and tried to cultivate the image of a single young man. He didn't have much experience with women in a romantic sense and probably thought he would never fall in love. Infatuation he knew. Lust obviously, but never had he felt that feeling of "Oh, this person is where it's at. I want to build my entire life around her."

Usually yes. But it wasn't the rule for every single person. & like I said, his aunt actually didn't want him to get married- he could have used her objection against it if he really wanted to.

I mean he married because he knocked her up. He married her because he felt he had to. He cheated on her repeatedly and professionally tried to keep their marriage a secret from the press as soon as it happened. Not exactly something you do when you're in love. Prior to that he never even had a serious girlfriend, so it's easy to believe he had never been in love until he met Yoko. Remember that he fell for Yoko before she fell for him. She didn't even know who he was and didn't listen to the Beatles, so he knew that she wasn't impressed by his fame. In fact, she met Paul first and was working on some art project and borrowed some stuff from Paul before John met her on a completely unrelated event where he was blown away by her artwork without even knowing who the artist was. Then they started working on a project together before they fell in love. So it was this thing of mutual respect.

ALSO- yoko developed a stutter in 1968. she talked about this in 1972/3. john made a habit of talking for her during this time. it's absent in their last interviews in 1980, after they took a 5 year break from the public. john never hit yoko. that's what yoko has been trying to say the past 37 years. he hit his first wife once, when he was 18. (which she responded with breaking up with him for a month, and he returned.) he wasn't a habitual wife beater. he was traumatized by his stepfather bobby dykins who hit Julia Lennon to the point of her face bleeding. If your sources are Albert Goldman and Phillip Norman, who Yoko & Paul hate, i'm not going to listen to you.
@nonebusiness4488
@nonebusiness4488 6 жыл бұрын
the phil norman biography was really amazing. i respect him. paul does not hate phil norman, and guess what norman did a biography on paul, rivals john in size, and paul is endorsing it. yoko spent years talking to norman about his life, but she got angry about all the thing he disclosed when he wrote the book, like for instance a story of john and his friends playing a masterbation game when they were kids, like who could shoot the farthest or some sort of thing like that. yoko told him stuff like that, i guess she was just talking her head off, and then he included it in the biography and she got angry like 'how can you include a story about john masterbating!!!!" but really she might have been high when she told the story in the first place. there is also a story in the norman biography that john stabbed a robbed a guy in hamburg after a show and they guy was buying them food and drinks all night. i don't know where the story came from . maybe yoko, maybe someone else who knew them in those days. i forget. i find it hard to believe norman would make up a story like that. and john, his violent drunk thing, it seems plausible event though it hurts to hear he would do that to anyone mr. love and peace dissonance if ever there was dissonance. he was a violent drunk for sure.

Yoko's English, while still accented, is amazingly fluent and nuanced. If you want John Lennon at his most enlightened point, listen to his 1980 interviews. This interview was done in 1969, at the height of his heroin addiction, and in the midst of his band breaking up. He's 29 here. What “kid” isn't narcissistic at that age? “Of course” he was interrupting Yoko. He hadn’t learned yet. Totally on brand with every other narcissistic world-famous artist that age who grew up in macho culture. Don’t crucify the man for mistakes he made while he was learning how to manoeuvre a very peculiar situation: (ie....being a revolutionary artist, a tortured soul, and one of the most famous people on the planet) He hadn't truly embraced feminism at this age of 29. His 1980 interviews are where he shows his healthiest outlook. He was a real man when he died.

I think the reason I love John Lennon so much is because he WASN'T perfect, and he admitted it. He did things he wasn't proud of, just like the rest of us. He was nothing but human. He could let his emotions get the better of him, he could screw up, he could hurt the people he loved, but that's all because he wasn't perfect. That's what makes us (Humans) so great. We can do wrong, and we can do things we're not proud of. Think of how boring life would be without making mistakes, and putting up with the consequences.

"Love is composed of a single soul inhabiting two bodies"-Aristotle. It is easy to become one with others once you are clear of the mind because only then are you pure spirit. We are all pure spirit, and once we drop the weights of our minds and become that, we will all become one love, a single soul inhabiting many bodies. *Google truth contest* and read "The Present" to learn how to become pure spirit. Honestly people can hate on Yoko all they want but if John found love and someone he could trust in her, that’s a beautiful thing.

That's the reason I don't like John Lennon very much. John had been seeing Yoko while still with Cynthia and John would then proceed to leave Cynthia and his young son Julian because supposedly he didn't find that relationship very stimulating and even then John proceeds to cheat on Yoko with another lady named May Pang and then it turns out Yoko was actually involved with two other men at the time and then it turns out Yoko actually set John up with May, it's a whole mess. John pretty much throws love away and takes it for granted and after everything that's happened Cynthia still loved John Till her dying breath and it pretty much messed up Julian. Yeah I don't like John Lennon.

it makes me sad for cynthia when john said he’d fallen in love only at 29. ive seen pictures of the letters john would write to cynthia, they were so in love. cynthia was john’s first love, yoko came after that. i’m not doubting his love for yoko, i can tell he loved her with all his heart, but it seems that he just wanted to forget about cyn all together after he left her for yoko.

I think Yoko is underappreciated as an artist. Musically she's not everybody's cup of tea and I get that (her scream-songs are what she's most known for, but she's done other styles of music, and her work on her and John's final album together is some of her best), but her concept art pieces like Grapefruit are really thought-provoking and beautiful, and she was the woman who finally taught John about feminism. She deserves more credit than she gets.
@GCKelloch
@GCKelloch Жыл бұрын
The very definition of pretentious. She had virtually no artistic or musical skill. Becoming a great artist isn't just about ideas. It takes blood, sweat & tears = training and practice. Anyone with a brain can have smart and rebellious ideas. Many artists b4 her that actually honed their craft produced brilliant work criticizing conventional norms. FFS, her own child doesn't like her. That should be a clue right there.

Yes it is true that John was abusive and had his issues. He regretted how he was with Julian and tried to make it better by being there for Sean. He took a hiatus just to raise him and people have him shit for that too. People make mistakes but that doesn't mean they don't try to be better. And he most definitely wasn't a conformist. People called him all kinds of names for the off the wall ideas he had about peace. But the way I see it, you don't know if you don't try. It's a sad world where the one who wants peace is the crazy one...
