As we seek to heal our local communities and eventually our nations and world from the ecological and economical ills that fester from a system out of balance, this idea of Power to the People will grow to embody a living breathing mantra with real power to affect great change. It's inevitable. I believe people are waking up and sensing their place in history. We are truly fortunate to be alive at this time. We are growing up. Thank you for this song John Lennon. You were a true visionary.

A professional politician knows that the way they win is to divide people by crap that doesn't really matter. They get richer and the rest of us get poorer. John Lennon tried to tell people that.

Most geniuses are assholes, so was Townes Van Zandt, Woody Guthrie, Burroughs, I'm sure the list goes on. He was very happy with Yoko he didn't care about image or profit anymore and EVERYONE hated him for that, and a lot of people still do.

Roxy41262 you better believe it if John Lennon was here still we probably wouldn't have Donald Trump in office but if we did John Lennon and showed what he could do a protest against Vietnam imagine the protest he could do against Donald Trump we need peace and we need to get this hatred out of our country everyone's got to start being decent again I got faith in mankind that you could do it😎✌🌏🇺🇸

I love this song. I'm from the USA, and even though I may not agree with everything that comes out of Washington DC, we still have it pretty good here. I feel sorry for those in this world that have a government that have taken away their right to voice their opinion, vote etc. It is my sincerest hope that one day those people would have the freedom that we enjoy here in the USA. Peace n Love!! ;-)

sorry to shatter your illusions but, think you will find your rights are being eroded at a rate of knots just as, the corrupt facists are doing here!. we are all "useless eaters" to them, when they have worn us out.!.., John Lennon was "shut up" because he knew what was really going on! and, had a great platform and young audience to hear him. war is a money spinner for the already super rich, and our children will be next...cannon fodder. He was scared too, because "they" followed his every move and he knew it!. when you acknowledge shit situations you cannot then un know them. He stood up and got counted against injustice in all its forms. shine on

It’s hard to believe, but it was 35 years ago today John Lennon was shot and killed. He was shot and killed outside his New York City apartment building on the night of December 8th, 1980. Lennon's killer, Mark David Chapman, was sentenced to a prison term of 20-years to life after pleading guilty to murder. Chapman has been eligible for parole since 2000, but has been denied eight times. His next parole hearing will be next August.

Yes, John Lennon was shot on my 22nd birthday, Dec. 8, 1980. Poor John! What a way to go for this man! Chapman should remain imprisoned for the term of his life. John Lennon's murder was absolutely senseless!

I was 11 years. When they made the announcement, I was wise enough to know that this would be one of the most devastating losses. Even now, regardless of where I am or what frame of mind I am in, the thought of this loss still makes me unable to talk. If ever time travel is possible, I will gladly go back and take that bullet. Gladly. John, we miss you.

+TommyTazza if you're saying that in a negative way then you are probably a sociopath because how much more politely positive can a statement be than hey people are good, appreciate your worth humans, you don't have to do anything about it if you don't want to, but if you do want to that's great too, which is all this song is saying..... I have a very far fetched hope that you mean communism in it's true, never been tried, sense, and in that case great. But if you mean it like some capitalism loving troll then you should really re-evaluate your entire self, because if you're offended by this you should probably get evaluated by a mental health professional.

Just read... 1 in 7 Americans lives in poverty. Being Canadian I hesitate to claim the same proportion, except I know that I live in poverty. It wasn't always that way, I used to be quite affluent. Cancer took it's toll on my wealth and health, and now I live as a Special Parent to my mentally disabled 10yr old daughter. With all the international failures coming back to haunt us, I believe I can smell a new revolution. Let's hope this one actually happens and brings more Power To The People!

Should have been a No. 1 Hit on the U.S.Hot 100 Billboard in 1971 for at least One Week. It was every much as good as Brown Sugar by the Rolling Stones and It's Too Late by Carole King that went No. 1 at the same time it Charted and better than Whatever Gets You Thru The Night that went No. 1 by him 3 years later.
