I’m from Ukraine. For me personally, John - is the main person in rock music history of the 60s and 70s of the last century. He continues to be a prominent figure even 40+years after his tragic death. I have been collecting “The Beatles” vinyl records for almost 50 years straight. And have a large collection from over the world. RIP John, RIP George. God bless Paul and Ringo. I saw both of you in the Ukraine, when you toured with concerts in Kyiv. I even have a pleasure of singing a duet with sir Ringo “Act Naturally” and “What goes on”.! Thank you for your beautiful and meaningful music.

Right there w/ya bro'. Though born and (still am so far) a yank I first saw the Beatles first TV appearance (Ed Sullivan) at 12 at a all male private British military school (in Canada). Whole village there was Brit and with the (very) English headmaster were the masters (teachers) who were all Brit, too. Scottish, English, Ausie, and even New Zealand sent them. So I got a more British take on the Beatles (Village and staff wise) which was mixed but not much different than down here across the border except for that (touch) of English pride. Didn't much matter to us inmates (who all felt like orphans) since in about a month or two all of us (tried desperately) to have Beatle haircuts and getting some punitive reaction for having done so. My punishment (being so young) was to carry a chord of firewood across the campus grounds to the school wood furnace (basement) one arm load at a time. The pain wasn't sweet (but made me a better rugby player). Guessing 'sure as shit' brought me closer to the Beatles and felt like John was saying to me to tell them to take that wood and SHOVE IT ! John L. seemed to be the leader and could talk to me (even then) and same deal, though I am not a 'fan' kind of guy, when ever John had something to say (words of wisdom or w/song lyric) I instinctively listened. Talk about a moment when you remember exactly where you were; was John's murder (which did feel like an assassination). I had just recently moved to my new country home. Was eating dinner on a TV tray (while watching TV) and 'it' came on,... a special bulletin,.... and with out even realizing it the TV tray and dinner (somehow) flew all the way across the living room and splattered against the wall. The only time I felt that kind of passion, despair (and rage) for someone I never actually met (personally). It felt like the beginning of the end as was a couple of years of weirdness followed. (As for instance) I am driving home and coming down a hill and witness what looked like an atomic detonation off in the distant south Cascade Mt. range and before realizing (one of my favorite haunts) Mt. St. Helens had just sent it's top to the moon and my favorite lake (Spirit) had just swallowed the rest along w/an old buddy (Harry Truman and his lodge). Such like events as the Beatles, Kennedy, Monroe back then, all at once. Makes you wonder about (those) stars popping out of alignment from time to time (and holding on to your hat)! Maybe we're there again or soon enough (?). With John Lennon; is it amazing (or expected) that after the reach of time soooo many of us still mourn (and) celebrate the one who only once sang he was 'just a jealous guy'. 'Just another bloke like you'....... (Maybe not).

I hear you brother he was one of my stepfather's.. the Beatles were something profound. The kind if thing that only happens once in a hundred years and they will leave their legacy for a thousand years. John was a messenger from God Almighty. He fought the good fight. John knew the value of truth and love. May his eternal soul continue to shine on.. and on and on and on.. RIP John. I listened. I heard the truth. God have mercy on you brother..🙏❤

Having never seen this tribute, I had some really fun surprises! I discovered for the first time (I'm embarrassed to say) Yolanda Adams and Shelby Lynne (!!!) and I was absolutely blown away by the passion they poured into the song. both were phenomenal, but i can't imagine a better treatment of "Mother" - and you KNOW that's not an easy song to sing! WOW.

Just what I needed to watch tonight. Great song choices, great artists, beautiful emotions. Are there artists as good as this nowadays (2023)? Do people still believe in love and peace and being connected to your neighbor, or just about political correctness? Are we better than in the 90s, or worse? I guess as long as artists like John Lennon remain relevant we have a chance.

John and Paul were very different but brilliant in their own way. Paul was the melody guy and lyrics were simple and story telling whereas John was more the lyricist with his clever words and political phrases. He was more interested in what he wanted to say and if he could make a difference in the world. It's a very effective political platform is music. Merry Christmas (war is over... if you want it) was about stopping the Vietnam war....and it certainly helped.

What I dearly love about John Lennon is that he was a musical genius who changed music forever... and, often, a complete mess! Which is to say that he was a true HUMAN, each of us trying to figure what-the-hell this Temporal Life means -- or should mean. So pleased that his music, so long after it's writing, continues to be performed by so many artists, and always lift and illuminate our hearts and souls.

I'mma glad somebody thinks so... she was just copying another more original and more interesting singer/artist named Siouxsie Sioux from the 80s band Siouxsie and the Banshees.

Yes, I have watched it before but came back to listen to Alanis' contribution again - very well done. It would be interesting to hear her do some of John's other songs, like Across The Universe.

I cried all the way through this, tears of joy no doubt, at the message of John Lennon; love everything, sung through these beautiful, talented, people, and I imagined, John listened too. Thank you so much.

Sean gave me goosebumps playing his father's song, "Julia," his own grandmother. After listening to John sing it for so many years it's amazing how close to his father Sean got. And I'm happy to see that he is flourishing on the guitar. That was some fingerpicking he was doing. I have total faith that people will still be listening to their music in 100 years at least.

John talked so much sense about the state of the world and governments etc. I don't always agree with his assessments of his own songs in the Beatles and those of Paul and George. But he was an amazingly original songwriter and vocalist. I miss John all the time. True genius.
