Great interview and so honest on the struggle to recover. It’s such an important issue, especially for us who are getting a little older and sustain an injury.

One of the best and one of the most down to earth legends of motosport we will ever see, hope all goes well for John in the future whatever he does, write a few books and do the tv work, or open a massive bike shop and enjoy a happy retirement from road racing, an absolute legend.

I love the honesty of these TT guys. John, and all the road racing guys, put it all on the line at each race, so don’t have time for BS I reckon. Great to see him coming back even if it’s more as a development rider.

So nice to hear McPint talking clear and focused. I have a Honda XL650L and a CBR 1000 RR sitting in my garage for over a year now. My hips went on me bone/bone I couldn't ride my bikes anymore I did get both hips replaced 9 weeks ago. I have come a long way but I have a ways to go, Ill never play goalie in ice hockey again but I will ride my bikes. All the best to Master of road racing McPint he is such a likeable man and very humble. All the best to McPint and all the gutsy road racers from Ontario, Canada my true cozens

Great interview with an even greater man in John McPint. You've got nothing further to prove so I think it's fair to say everyone just appreciates you being part of the sport regardless of any results. Best of luck.

I can semi-relate to his discussion of Tramadol, pain Rx. I had my Right hip completely replaced a year ago....and the reason I DIDN'T use any drugs was.....the stories of addiction. So, for the first two weeks following my operation, I just had to tough it out. I only used.....ice. LOTS of ice-cubes. I already knew two things: (1) I had a high pain tolerance, and (2) I'd get every side effect there was. But to wipe out like John did- and get back on the saddle....I don't think I could've. He IS....The Man.

I would rather see McPint ride the last years of his career on a winning bike a bike that needs a great rider such as McPint, its like having a guy that can score a goal at will but if he doesn't have a goalie to stop the puck behind him he wont win

All the riders at the TT are very skilled, brave and maybe a bit mad. How they get back on a bike and race again after such terrible injuries sure beats me. The spectacle they are apart of is probably the most exciting sport for me, probably because I couldn't do what they do. Good luck to all of them, and get well John. Hope to see him do well on the Norton in 2020.

Buy an OS map 1/25000 or 1/50000 scale, learn and understand what a "byway open to all traffic" and "any other public access" looks like on the map, use the legend down the side, I.e a green dashed line and green dots ... you cant just ride anywhere . You can only ride on the designated routes marked on a map. Join an off road club or the TRF and get out riding with them they'll show you some routes, whatever you do, don't just go and rip up the land and be a twat ! 😉🤘🏻 enjoy
