Hurricane Beryl roared through open waters on Tuesday as a monstrous Category 5 storm on a path that would take it near Jamaica and the Cayman Islands after earlier making landfall in the southeast Caribbean, killing at least four people.

What is interesting is this hurricane broke the record of Hurricane Emily (2005) and coincidentally its on a similiar path. Emily reached CAT 5 after passing south of Jamaica whereas Beryl intensified into a CAT 5 under 48 hours. If the eye of the storm crosses north of Jamaica just a little bit then I predict that it will enter the Gulf of Mexico and take a direct path to Houston. Probability says it will hit Cancun and then head northwest.

They will simply remember that the number of major hurricanes is increasing. How often do you hear the terms unprecedented, of the century, never seen etc. in the last years? And we are just a quarter into the new century. It’s not the dimension of catastrophies, you will find similar or greater catastrophies in the past, but the frequency of these within the last decade.

I especially noticed it during Muchael. Another CAT5, yet the bouy only recorded 39mph. Bet you didn't know that piece of info snuck out. Let me tell you about experts in their fields specifically geologists. The man who came up with the theory of plate tectonics was actually a meteorologist. The expert geologist laughed him out of the office. 50 years later his theory was proven to be a scientific fact. Remember that when you listen to an expert😂

You are correct. Weather "records" in the Caribbean only date back to the early 1500's, when the Spanish empire expanded into that area and their navy first encountered monster storms that dwarfed anything they had experienced in Europe. Their "records" are obviously incomplete, as only land-based observations survived, and are therefore unreliable.
