@@ikcalv Fair enough question. I group hate Trump through Seth's "A Closer Look". They are rarely funny, but I like the fact that a television personality constantly fighting back against Trump's indiscriminate lying and general incompetence. So...working from home, I hope to prove myself wrong about the other comics of Seth's "era" so to speak. I watch because I am hoping that corrosively narcissistic characters (who believe that their own existence is what is funny in improv comedy), might surprise me. Sorry, but I remember when improv comedy in general, and SNL specifically, was actually funny. Many of the comments here seem to point out that JM is a good-looking guy. Fine, let him tap dance his way onto the cover of GQ. Let him do bathing shoot photo shoots. I call that "Cutesdy". He has no place wasting the brain cells of hard working Americans. Leave that to Judd Apatow.

I can’t tolerate any clapping or loud laughing but on low on my phone I can enjoy all of the lockdown shows! I wish they wouldn’t go back to loud clapping but I’m sure everyone will enjoy being able to have audiences again.

He just brings out the best in his guests.

You see it a lot when someone gets one of these shows and a lot of their former coworkers have gotten famous. Look at Colbert’s show and how he likes to have old Daily Show people come on. When a bunch of friends all get famous and successful, they’re just going to naturally gravitate toward each other and then we get to see the wholesomeness of friendship on full display.

@@jonk1789 I saw that interview as well... Even if he wasn't *actively* high on cocaine for this interview, I would not describe this individual as "sober" - he is pretty obviously addled, whether it is from drugs, lack of drugs (i.e. withdrawals), or just a general chronic abuse of his physiology. I am really glad that he's clean now, and seems to be getting his life back in order. I do hate that things between him and Annamarie ended the way that they did, but of course, nobody (outside of those two) knows the full truth of what happened there. The Strokes are one of my favourite bands of all time, and Mulaney is one of my favourite comedians of all time, so I was EXTREMELY excited for their SNL episode. The second John walked out I was like "That's Julian's trenchcoat!". That's so cool of Julian to give John some of his jackets and those shades. What a nice guy. -
