Given the extortionate prices to see bands at large venues, I have to end up watching tribute acts as I'm not paying £150+ to sit miles away at Wembley stadium

Thanks for this insight John. You are the real deal mate. Simple solution really...greed kicks in constantly....recurring theme...

I loved the 80's £2a ticket . drink less than £1 a pint . government makes huge mistakes then we pay your bills go up food goes up no one can afford to go out the cost of a day out is a weeks wage .sad times .

I remember seeing Muse and 2 support bands play in Manchester for £15 in 2002, when they were actually good. Went backstage afterwards as well. It would cost like 10 times that much to see them play now, which is a joke. Never going to another concert again.

Any levy would simply be passed on in ticket prices. One set of music fans would be forced to subsidize another set of music fans. France has a levy system, is the French music scene better for it? Either way, I dont go to Glastonbury or Ed Sheeran gigs so dont expect to be paying the levy anyway.

Greedy landlords.

It is to the live music industry currently what the rise of the CD was to the recording industry in the 90s. EVERY band that ever existed is on a perma nostalgia tour now, ever since the money went out of making records and came from live shows. No, John. In 10-15 years time, there won't be any new bands. See above.
