I am in 100% agreement, man. I have been studying, admiring and enjoying Scofield's playing from the first time i chanced upon a video of him playing. It's almost like i had found the player I have been searching and yearning for. A competent, well studied Jazz player with an incredible feel for groove and the most unique phrasing and ability to fuckin whip out the most jutting and angular phrases you've ever heard. Magical music! I have always liked Sco from the start but now he has evolved into not only a jazz star but a guru like figure- a great jazz guitarist with a real connection with world music and everyone who loves music.

Sounds like Steely Dan with these horn arrangements, and Sco's sound is not too dissimilar to Larry Carlton's with the Dan. Scofield is the man.

The piano groove is reminiscent of "Watermelon Man". Brilliant performance by the band and Mr. Scofield. Honorable mention to Ms. Hazama for "Most Superfluous" role in a musical performance.

Scofield is obviously a master guitarist (people should study his right hand very carefully) but he's not just a guitarist who influences other guitarists -he's an influence on music as a whole - his improvising, his composing, his grasp and combining of multiple genres. Whether he's playing standards or experimenting he's always at the service of musicality. He is a living jazz great - a presence similar to how Wayne Shorter was way more than just a great saxophonist.
